tobey bilek Posted January 27, 2015 Share #7 Â Posted January 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Very nice lens . I love mine. Wanted one ever since I tried one at a Leica demo in 2006. Â It is black and still heavy. Chrome is a brick. I do like the way chrome lenses look and last with good appearance maintained. My 50 Rigid looks and performs as new and is handsome on the chrome M9P.
Enbee Posted January 27, 2015 Author Share #8 Â Posted January 27, 2015 Awesome Tobey! Look forward to it!
Mr_Jones Posted January 28, 2015 Share #9 Â Posted January 28, 2015 My favourite lens, I might never have bought another Leica lens if I had bought this one first. Congrats.
Bill W Posted January 30, 2015 Share #10 Â Posted January 30, 2015 Cool, I have the lowly chrome 50 cron. It was a present for my chrome M. I bought it used and had it coded. Love it.
ananda Posted January 30, 2015 Share #11 Â Posted January 30, 2015 Great choice. I've had mine 6 years and love it.
stevesurf Posted January 31, 2015 Share #12 Â Posted January 31, 2015 Best of luck with it; a wonderful lens! IMHO it has the nicest background bokeh of the lenses I've used, enjoy and feel free to shoot wide open
snooper Posted February 1, 2015 Share #13 Â Posted February 1, 2015 I have the silver edition as well and find it a bit too heavy. Â So if there is anyone having a mint black and looking for a mint silver... :-)
billo101 Posted February 1, 2015 Share #14 Â Posted February 1, 2015 Great! I love mine. Â b
tobey bilek Posted February 2, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted February 2, 2015 Chrome lenses wear better (less) then black with a weight penalty. Â I also think they look not as good on black cameras. Â It is a wonderful lens which I loved from 2007 when I tried one at a Leica Day. It went to Calumet Camera as a demo lens and they sold it for $2000. Then I paid way more recently for my copy. epand56 Posted February 10, 2015 Share #16 Â Posted February 10, 2015 I've sold my chrome one one year ago and bought now the black version: I'm very happy on the change. The black one is considerably lighter on the camera and I even like it aesthetically more than the chrome. Given that the M240 is a little bit heavier than the M8, this helps a lot. wda Posted February 10, 2015 Share #17 Â Posted February 10, 2015 Isn't it wonderful that Leica gives us a choice.
jaapv Posted February 10, 2015 Share #18 Â Posted February 10, 2015 I have a chrome one, but if I were to buy another one it would be black. the chrome one I simply too heavy.
microview Posted February 10, 2015 Share #19 Â Posted February 10, 2015 I have a chrome one, but if I were to buy another one it would be black. the chrome one I simply too heavy. Â Yes I couldn't cope with the weight of the silver, although I now have a chrome pre-aspheric and prefer its rendering. (Was a limited edition LTM, close focus limit one metre; came boxed with matching UV filter.)
