Neko Posted February 18, 2016 Share #124 Posted February 18, 2016 I have been using the 35 Lux FLE for 2 years as my only lens. Mainly because I did not own any other lens. Really happy with this lens. Very versatile. But 5 months ago the 50 APO came and it changed everything! It is really a terrific lens.I love the way it renders on my MM. And as the 50 frames in the rangefinder are smaller than the 35 ones, it is easier for me to compose. I mean I can see more of what is out of the frame and then choose the right composition. So the 50 APO will be.

rpittal Posted February 23, 2016 Share #128 Posted February 23, 2016 I'm really becoming attached to my M246 and the 35 cron 8 element; it is really several lenses in one with changes in character with different apertures. Great glow wide open and extremely sharp when closed down. Bob
Simon Bee Posted February 23, 2016 Share #129 Posted February 23, 2016 A tough choice between my 35 'Cron Black Chrome Limited and 50 'Lux Black chrome limited. I guess though if I really had to choose between them it would be the 50 Lux, I am more of a '50'guy plus it's retro design looks wonderful on my black chrome 50 Jahre M4 ..... a very desirable combo IMO, I am seduced by its beauty every time I pick it up Kind regards, Simon

platypus Posted February 23, 2016 Share #131 Posted February 23, 2016 Yesterday I took a photo with the miraculous 75 Lux/M262....and then shot the same subject with the APO 50/MM, something I've never done before. The difference quite shocked me ....so it has to be the APO 50, but only on the MM.

asiafish Posted February 29, 2016 Share #134 Posted February 29, 2016 You lost your entire fortune and were only allowed to keep one M-body and one lens. You know you will never be able to buy another lens. What lens would you choose to use for the rest of your life. Rick * Note: "the rest of your life" and "fortune" are obviously variables. 50 LUX ASPH.
Rick Posted March 1, 2016 Author Share #135 Posted March 1, 2016 So, the idea is that this thread is only open for the month of January each year? Hurry, you only have 23 more days to decide. Jeff Yes, it appears so. Every January the court will revisit your choices and allow for new responses and hear reports of how you have done shooting your one Leica M lens. Until, next year, enjoy the riches of owning an M camera and one amazing M lens. Immerse yourself in the creative poverty of simplicity and the clarity of artistic vision it often inspires. And, enjoy sleeping in your car for another year. Rick

Paul J Posted March 3, 2016 Share #137 Posted March 3, 2016 In this instance I would revert to my current Zombie apocalypse strategy. Nail in the doors, smash the ground and first floor stair cases out and ride out the storm living on tinned goods upstairs (with all lenses). Stick Traps and Spring Spear traps would take out take out the first few to get through the barricading, and home made flame thrower for last resort. darylgo Posted March 6, 2016 Share #139 Posted March 6, 2016 Using a double blind technique my wife and I would cover our eyes, she would pick a lens out of the bag and that would be my best focal forever, bff. My rather lazy approach is one body/lens. Rarely do I miss having other focal lengths, I can remember once when shooting an 18mm landscape it was too wide, however when viewing the image on the screen the 18mm did great and the image is one of my favorites. I might stack the deck and put the 50 asph on the top of the bag. Considering all the 50's chosen in this thread I hope Leica will make a new Q with 45-50mm.
