And some more from the same BW rol. First image depicts the typical "natural" standing of most of the people, mainly when dressed the European way… Much better was the reaction of the nice girl! The two last pixes are of traditional tribal chiefs.

Since my old "portraits" from Africa seem to have interested quite a few people, I publish here the last I found in my archives. Needless to remind that all were taken with Leica camera and lens! More than 50 years ago...

It starts with two more images of the "Emperor/Mulopwe" of Sud-Kasaï Albert Kalonji, going out of "his" plane and reviewing "his" troops, followed by his "First Minister" Ferdinand Kazadi. In contrast, it is followed by an image I very much like of a young girl taking some rest on the soil. To follow, and coming back to an other kind of reality, our secretary Jean-Jacques, a Minister of something (I do not even remember his name), a very kind policeman and the complete team of Judges and Procurators of the Supreme Court of Bakwanga (some were my collegues at the Louvain University in Belgium and all are certified Doctors at Law!).

I wished to finish (definitely, except if I find more in my archives), with four "portraits" of tribal chiefs, but - even if the total size is less than 1,000 kb - I got a message that I went above authorized limit. I do not insist, and will try again to-morrow.

Hi, Pecole,

It's a known forum software bug.  All you need to do is to refresh your browser page* and you can post your (premium members') limit of 1,000 kB in the next and subsequent posts.

(* I use the Safari browser and I simply click the circular arrow at the right hand end of the web address bar at the top of the browser page.)

Pete.

An outstanding series of portraits, Brent, and I find that you have particularly connected with an aspect of this girl's personality. Love the Barishnikov grin, too.

I think they are competing for your attention. They were probably drawn to that slick little CL.

Some say the Summilux 35 pre asph is usable only stopped down. Many keep it for its performance wide open.
