M(240) and C-Biogon 21/4.5

I had the 4.5/21 Biogon and it was a fantastic lens except for the red edge. As I mainly shot B&W it was less of a problem and the slightly dark edge easily repaired PP with minimal file damage. I bought it whilst waiting for my 1.4/21 Sumilux but when the latter lens finally arrived I couldn't part with the Biogon as it was otherwise so good (sharpness, microcontrast, lack of distortion), as well as cheap and compact. This was in my M9 days, before the M240 and Monochrom.

However, I finally got the shits with the red edge - in the end any PP to repair the problem is to some extent destructive editing of the file. So I bought a 3.4/21 Super-Elmar. On close comparison of files shot with both lenses it was clear that the Leica was in every way the optically superior lens. At that stage I had no qualms selling the Biogon which I did for what I paid for it.

Should I have kept it for my Monochrom? Maybe, but two 21mm lenses is enough .
