stunsworth Posted January 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) After almost a year of using a Fuji X-Pro I decided to take my M8 with me on a short trip to France after Christmas. It was like meeting an old friend that's not been seen for a while. This was taken at the American cemetery overlooking Omaha beach in Normandy. Soeone was burning leaves, or similar, nearby and the smoke was drifting over this part of the cemetery. Leica M8, 50mm Summicron. Welcome, dear visitor! Bill W Posted January 2, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2015 Beautiful Steve. The smoke looks like fog. Very timely as I just watched Band of Brothers for the 10th time I think.
pauledell Posted January 2, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2015 Steve, Great mood for the somber location with the smoke, the sunlight with the excellent tones and its sharpness. Paul

MarkP Posted January 2, 2015 Share #5 Posted January 2, 2015 Very 'atmospheric"! Are you back with the M8 now or just for occasional use?
stunsworth Posted January 3, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted January 3, 2015 Very 'atmospheric"! Are you back with the M8 now or just for occasional use? Thanks. I think I'm back to the M8, though I'd like to get at least an M9 this year. The M8 has a minor problem with the SD card reader that Leica wanted £600 to repair, so I'm sticking with the un-repaired camera for the time being.
