likalar Posted December 31, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks, all! James L, I was standing on the dry sand. A body board (or boogey board, or skim board, or belly board) can be used several ways. This man starts on shore and waits for the moment when a crashed wave starts receding toward the ocean. Then, while running toward the ocean, he drops the board in front of him and steps on for a fast ride downhill toward the next breaking wave. With any luck, he gets launched or finds a moment to try a new trick. In this photo, he's in water just a foot or 2 deep..... Another way is to start in deep water, hoping to ride a wave toward shore, usually on your belly. Larry
