StS Posted October 11, 2015 Share #162 Posted October 11, 2015 Good idea*, if my company is acceptable to you, of course..... * the lunch I mean, not the bike Same here, if you can live with me - a good lunch sounds like time well wasted. I better bring a proper jacket then.... Anyhow, I just managed to work down most of the business lunches and dinners I had in September... Hoping of course that they accept. Otherwise we may end up at just a 1 star restaurant ;( I suggest noon is a good time to start - which means a light breakfast. Stefan - as for waist lines; a gentleman never asks and a tailor never mentions it.

StS Posted October 12, 2015 Share #165 Posted October 12, 2015 (...) Stefan - as for waist lines; a gentleman never asks and a tailor never mentions it. There is a related issue, though, if a jacket, which was made to one's size, won't fit any more Stefan (Edit - I should look up English interpunction, occasionally)
pop Posted October 12, 2015 Share #166 Posted October 12, 2015 I'll be in Vienna for Thursday evening but I'm not sure what time since I'll be a passenger in Robert's car but if we make it for a reasonable time then, Yes! Will let you know how we're doing by text or voice as we approach and hopefully we'll be in time for a nosh and natter. (Is your phone number the same as it was in Copenhagen? Mine's unchanged.) Friday sounds like a good idea too but I don't know Vienna so I can't suggest anywhere I'm afraid. Pete. As I will arrive on Wednesday, I'll be available both for Thursday and Friday. I don't know yet my mobile number I'll have there. Looking forward to seeing you all.
Sandokan Posted October 13, 2015 Share #167 Posted October 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Stefan, Tailors also make mistakes and jacket sizes like rangefinders can drift over time to tightness or front focus. A good tailor recognizes this at manufacture and will adjust the seams for you as this happens. Strangely, it is rare for jacket sizes to drift the other way - for me at least. pop Posted October 13, 2015 Share #168 Posted October 13, 2015 As everyone knows, clothes shrink when washed too warm. I have never understood why my wife insisted on washing my trousers and even leather belts that hot.
Wolfgang Esslinger Posted October 13, 2015 Share #169 Posted October 13, 2015 As the weather will apparently be less than perfect here is another photo exhibition: http://www.westlicht.com/ausstellungen/aktuell/11092015-18102015-world-press-photo-15/ They show the World Press Photo winners of this year until Sunday and a lot of historic cameras (mostly Leica) all year long. But be carefull when walking along Westbahn Street - there is a high density of photo shops, esp. near the corner of Kaiserstrasse ;-)

farnz Posted October 14, 2015 Share #172 Posted October 14, 2015 It was snowing quite heavily and had settled on trees at the roadside as we drove over the Eifel mountains on the approach to Wetzlar las night. I shot a picture with the iPhone but I can't reduce its size to post it (even if it was acceptable to do so). We're in Wetzlar now and heading on to Munich perhaps, we're 'playing it by ear', later in the day en route to Vienna. Pete.
stunsworth Posted October 14, 2015 Share #173 Posted October 14, 2015 Pete, I use an app called Reduce to downsize phone photos. Available for the iPhone, don't know about other phones.

pop Posted October 14, 2015 Share #177 Posted October 14, 2015 As I will arrive on Wednesday, I'll be available both for Thursday and Friday. I don't know yet my mobile number I'll have there. Looking forward to seeing you all. My mobile phone # in Vienna now is +436 649 427 306 This is a discardable number I'll be using just those few days. It's a prepaid card from Telecom Austria for not quite €10 that yields 1000 minutes, 1000 SMS and 2000MB for 30 days. It is called b.free (B dot free). Do not take my word for the pricing of that card. Apparently, you have to charge the card before the free traffic applies. Better ASK before buying.
