Hello,

Are there options for non-leather half/full cases for the Leica M-P240 camera? Also, I am looking for suggestions for bags for the M-P 240. I have seen the ones on Leica site - I am looking for more option. Any pointers for further research will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

The Billingham A2 and Hadley Small are both good fits for a smallish kit, and the 225 for a more extensive one. Likewise the Domke F5XB and J803. I think also that one of the Optech or other brand neoprene cases would fit an M240 and likely be less expensive than the one Leica commissions with their logo imprint. I bought a used Leica full case for about $20 more than the half case, and the bottom part has a magnetic back flap that covers and protects the screen, which the half case doesn't.

Typical bags for the M system come in two main flavours, the posing pouches that display wealth and status, or the equally expensive yet casual looking and usable bags without pretensions to making a fashion statement. Decide where you are going with your camera and what you want to do with it before choosing. But two of the later 'casual' bags are the Think Tank 'Retrospective 5', or Billingham Hadley Pro.

I like my $20 Cuba canvas messanger style bag with either Timbuk2 insert or Hadley Pro insert. Can carry 2 bodies and plenty of lenses. When in questionable locals I pull out my P&S so no one is the wiser. I must take that red dot off the C though. I wonder if there is a screw underneath that red dot also?

Thank You so much for you suggestions. I just ordered the optech neoprene. I am hoping it does the job. I have looked at carrying bags - but I have one from my earlier cameras and that fits the camera for now. I like the tank but I have to save some money now! It's been an expensive month so far :)! Thank You again.

I have the Leica neoprene case. It is a fairly indifferent device. The only advantage is a bit of squidgy padding round the body. It does not fit very well on the M240 and if you have the MF grip on it is a very tight fit. You cannot leave the EFV on at all. A case with better damp and dust sealing would be much preferable.

A good discrete bag that works perfect for any M is the Timbuk2 small messenger bag with the Snoop camera insert. Timbuk2 allows you to have the bag custom made, so you can pick almost any color combination.

Opetch worked perfectly for me. Thank You again for all your suggestions. My 35mm is safely secure. I do have to remove the EVF2 before putting the camera back in the pouch but for now it's okay!

Does anyone make a half case for the M (240) with the MFG attached?

Yes. Arte de Mano does.

I use the neoprene case on my M8 and X Vario. Just remember that it is not waterproof.
