Hi All . some news from my M7 that I just received back from Wetzlar serviced and refurbished .... after a few months of waiting , fully operational with already 6 reels of Portra 400 .

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

How long did you have to wait for it to be serviced, Henry? Hopefully not a whole year.

Hi Ian ,

Quite long, but you have to be patient with Wetzlar , especially for analog M camera . For me, it's eight months. Impeccable work. The M7 has been refurbished , the rangefinder has been revised, the DX code has been changed , the rewind handle has been changed, the lubrication has been done, etc.

If you are interested , I can send you the invoice by PM.

Best regards

Henry

.... and the result with Kodak Portra 400 (dev in Tetenal) and M 90 Macro Elmar + Macro Adapter +Tripod Carbon Gitzo

Hi Rupert , this is the link that interests us  : https://www.lemonde.fr/m-le-mag/article/2016/04/27/raymond-depardon-et-son-inseparable-leica_4909357_4500055.html

and the translation :

"Today, I'm working with the M7, the fastest camera in the world. It has the shortest latency, 120 milliseconds from the moment you press the shutter to the moment you take a picture. Some cameras don't keep up and don't shoot right away. This one shoots very quickly. Ten times faster than any other camera, even digital.

What is the bottom plate?

It looks like a Really Right Stuff (RRS B30 ?) baseplate attachment to shift the tripod mount from the take-up spool side back to the middle centre of the camera so that the camera's weight is now over the top of the tripod/monopod head.

Back to the M7 after a few years away. Boy was that a mistake. I forgot what a pleasure and how fast it is to use.

Hi Harold , the future Leica rangefinder photographer . He holds the camera properly , his fingers firmly placed on the lens. 🥰

Best
