Have you tried without the multifunction grip? As far as I know none of the beta-testers had any problems with lock-ups but then I don't know if any were shooting with the multi-function grip

As to reinstalling the FW it would seem that once it is installed you can't do it again and you can't go back to a previous version so you might have to contact leica

Hi David,

Indeed I have tried with the regular bottom plate, not using the Multifunction grip. Through repeated on / off cycles, removing the battery and SD card (and changing them again) I was able to get the screen up a couple more times but always same result: it locks and the screen goes off. I did see that it had battery at 0% (which, after installing the update and taking a few pictures, was at 70% before the initial freeze up) so I thought to take the battery out, plug it in, and wait. Hopefully that has some positive effects!!

Thanks and best to you!

Thanks again David, appreciate your patience!! I'm sure I saw on the LCD, brief as the time was that it was on, that it said battery at 0%. In the charger it took just about 20 minutes or so to get the orange 80% light to come on, which makes sense as per how much I remember the battery having left. Same symptoms prevail. I called Leica in New Jersey, and they said they hadn't seen anything like this yet with this version of the FW, and to take the battery out overnight to hopefully clear any gremlins out. Otherwise, I think will have to send it in for service.

On top of this, while trying to get this camera back to life, the Macro-Adapter-M arrived by UPS, so no way to test it out yet!!

Have a nice afternoon and all the best to you!

Color seems to have changed after firmware update. Colder than reality when you compare to the actual scene. Is this just in my perception, or have anyone else seen this? Of course I can correct in Lightroom (using DNG), but there will be more work :-(

It is still there for me.

This in response to the "exposure lock" diode not illuminating on my first FW upgrade attempt.

I did another download and reload of the software. The instructions on the Leica Rumours would not link, so it was by guess, and I concede, reading the instructions, had I been able to, may have helped. It did a brief "updating" message, but no luck with the diode. I then hit "reset" and it all seems, after that, and touchwood, to be working.

I mention this not to demonstrate my cleverness, which is not great, but just in case any others run into the same issue.

Just wanted to thank Leica and the LUF beta testers for the great job on the new firmware. Just had a chance to try it out for the first time, and it really makes things better when using the EVF. Other changes are great too.

Thanks!

One observation on the new FW: You can now disable LV, using classic metering only. When you do so, you may still use the EVF even though LV is off. I find this quite useful as when using the EVF I do not need or want LV.

Have you checked if the colour is srgb or rgb - my setup was completely altered when FW was installed - I just reset all my preferences and then played with the EV and Auto ISO.

I must say I am pleased thus far. No unwanted movies wheee!
