Shot 279 shots with EVF since installing. No freeze. You will have to be more specific about the shooting parameters.

EVF, A-mode, AUTO ISO, Single shots, 4-5 shots in sequence, WATE at 21 mm, F4.

What else would you like to know ?

Well, I wonder, if other cameras used in similar normal circumstances, like mine and all of the beta testers' did not exhibit any freezes, whether your camera has some fault.

I had the multifunctional grip attached, whether that could have anything to do with the freezings.

It seems that the common denominator of the freezings was several shots taken in a fairly rapid sequence

The only freezes I have ever had have been associated, in my head at least, with taking several shots together. Without the EVF, and at normal temperatures. So, although it's not a frequent problem, I don't expect the new firmware to change things.

Edit: I wonder whether this type of freeze, and the slow start up and wake up times, are associated with a processor chip that is not powerful enough. Just speculation.

Actually it would be more corrct to call it "shutter width" as the speed of the shutter is constant and the distance between the blades varies.

Shutterspeed is meaningless. "My shutterspeed is 1/125th of a second." "I am riding my bicycle at a speed of 56 minutes "

Indeed it doesn’t make much sense. Even the blades of a central shutter travel at a velocity that is independent of the supposed ‘shutter speed’, and with an electronic shutter there are no moving parts anyway. Still the speed metaphor is quite pervasive in photography. There isn’t just the shutter speed, but also lens speed and film speed. In German, a ‘fast lens’ would be a ‘lichtstarkes Objektiv’, i.e. a lens capable of capturing much light. A ‘fast film’ would be a ‘hochempfindlicher Film’, referring to sensitivity to light rather than to speed. I suppose this use was derived from shutter speed – both a fast lens and a fast emulsion allow the photographer to choose a fast shutter speed.

Used the EVF for the WATE. Had three freezes, one of which required battery removal.

Have shot fairly extensively with the EVF and WATE and have had no freezes 2.0.1.5. I too don't have the multifunction grip so maybe you could do some shooting without it to see it the issue still appears

Leica, very well done and thanks for listening and delivering.

And, if you are still listening then a grid option added to the crop marks would be welcomed in the next update.

And if you are still listening then movable focus points would be welcomed in the next camera ;)

For the next FW update I'd like the bracketing function moved to Set (Picture ParameterMenu). I find that I sometimes need to bracket a particular subject for just a few shots, then return to normal. Digging through the Menu requires several clicks and dial spins. Perhaps the bracketing parameters can be set in Main Menu and an On/Off function replacing Video Resolution in Set. Video Res seems to be a set it and forget it item, why does this need to be in Set? Or, if the Video is disabled let that button turn bracketing on and off.

I do agree that Video Resolution seems out of place in the Set menu. Also, JPEG resolution could easily be moved up one space under File Format as a subset of that menu.

I'm not sure that I would want Bracketing added in, though. I'd have to give some thought to what I would prefer... so, it might be better if a couple spaces were user assignable.

In the meantime, you might want to consider setting up a User Profile for bracketing. The profiles allow some user customization.

First time poster here...updated to the 2.0.1.5 firmware yesterday, worked great, and then just had a colossal freeze which my camera doesn't seem to recover from:

Leica M 240

Multifunction grip

Summilux 35 mm

Sandisk Extreme SDXC I (45 mb / sec) class 10 64 GB

EVF 2

Took several pictures in A mode, then while focusing on LV, after a shot, the camera froze and would not come back to life. Cycled the power, removed the battery, and no revival. The red light below the LCD screen blinks for about five seconds, and then goes off. When I press the shutter release, the light blinks a few more times, but no release. After several attempts to cycle the power, remove batter, try several other SD cards, it came back to life, let me take a picture, then froze again. About every ten times (but not specifically, it seems random) the camera will let me into the menu and then freeze after a short time, and the LCD goes black. I tried putting the SD card with freshly downloaded FW on it in and starting while pressing info, but had no effect.

Before real panic sets in, any ideas? Anyone else in this jam?

Thanks!!

Remove all accessories and reinstall the FW.
