I'm sorry but I don't see anything special optically from all these examples. Maybe if I was looking for something apecial I'd see it but Indecide to look at the images.

Let's not forget that, nowadays, "good photos" are heavily flavorized in adobe lightroom. I understand that the greatest lenses are valid for shooting film, but not for digital. There is enough of flavorizing going on to really give a honest place to pure photography.

The real benefit you only See in print. Some days Ago i got the big size prints for an exhibition. There are the real differences visible. Resolution, Details etc. And you must know at the Moment there is no body that can get the whole Potential out of the apo.

I would respectfully disagree with your assessment on the APO 50. From all the images that I've seen, I do see something special of the lens.

The whole idea that something is better or worse is subjective. The same applies to whether wide open shots are better than f/16.

I love good photos. I don't care whether they are taken with a pin hole camera using a pin-prick in an old cereal packet or with a Hasselblad.

For me the APO 50 gives a better rendition of just about anything. It is lightweight. compact, and seems to have been designed for the future.

In summary, a wonderful lens and really worth the money.

Getting a plant to grow is an achievement, getting it to flower is a success, getting it to flower perfectly is perfection. Michele Hickman is a brilliant gardener and the link is a perfect example from her work, captured using the APO Summicrom 50mm.
