jaapv Posted May 27, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Morgan has gotten his act together for the M I got a beta-version of his leather and I must say, it is again a very good fit; just a bit of push and pull at the jogwheel, to get it precisely in place A caveat: The stuff Leica uses is a bit harder to pull off than before: the top layer tends to split off and the adhesive sticks to the body. White spirit will enable you to rub the rest off cleanly, but it makes for a bit more work. Application is easier than before, as Morgan has a stiffer kind of leather. Very nice to use, very nice to see. The edges have been dyed black, a nice touch. Communication and speed were fine Welcome, dear visitor! Herr Barnack Posted May 27, 2014 Share #7 Posted May 27, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Jaapv, Nice work on the application of the green leather! I would not trust my skills enough to try this, but congratulations on a job well done. The only customization I want to do to my M240 is to replace the less than desirable orange/red Leica logo with the black one. Other than that, I like the as issued look of my M240. tookaphotoof Posted May 27, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 27, 2014 I'm with Carlos, although I'll probably also want to remove the white paint of the Huge letter M on the front. That said, I do think the green looks good.
satijntje Posted May 27, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 27, 2014 Looks terrible in my eyes..... Not my taste at all. Poor M240:D John
farnz Posted May 27, 2014 Share #10 Posted May 27, 2014 Have you tried converting it to b&w? Pete.
jaapv Posted May 27, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted May 27, 2014 Good point, Pete In real life the green is a bit more subdued than my Digilux 3 makes it.
farnz Posted May 27, 2014 Share #12 Posted May 27, 2014 I quite like the colour of the leather, Jaap, but personally I think I'd prefer it on a silver chrome M. Pete.
jaapv Posted May 27, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted May 27, 2014 I found just about any colour looks better on a bright camera.
