jaapv Posted May 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Weird and wonderful from the past. A 2x converter for M, adaptable viewfinder for various focal lengths and a hotshoe adapter with sync contact. It converted to max 270 mm. I found focusung with the OVF at that focal length possible, but laborious. A magnifier might help. The EVF on the M240 makes everything much easier, hence this test. The set: Welcome, dear visitor! EricC Posted May 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 13, 2014 I have the exact same set including the original leaflet and box. I am pleased to see that it can produce very reasonable image quality considering it is not manufactured by Leica. I have not tried the one i have. luigi bertolotti Posted May 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Is like this, I seem... Newoldcamera You make me seriously think of ... maybe the quality isn't at top, but the flower is absolutaly fine, and carrying it plus a TE 135 isn't like carrying the TE 135 AND the Telyt 280... When you say that cropping 2x the image without converter is preferable, do you mean that it's better also on a print of A4/A3 size max ? 250swb Posted May 13, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 13, 2014 Your tests mirror the sort of results I got from mine Jaap, I had the same boxed kit in mint condition. And being mint was the way it was when I sold it, because after a couple of attempts I found focusing was just too difficult on a film camera, it wasn't a bad accessory in optical terms, just impossible to use. With the m240 I wish I still had it. Steve

I would say a 12 Mp image can print to about any size - with full quality of the Apo.

jaapv Posted May 13, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted May 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) One can always use the Apo-Telyt R 180/3.4 and the Apo-Extender R 2x.
luigi bertolotti Posted May 14, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 14, 2014 Exactly why Leica should make one. Hum... teleconverters seem to be "out of fashion".... I doubt they'll make one, considering also that they are highly concerned to keep the M glass as an absolutely 1st class product line and any product that can have a halo of "half-way" risks to lower the global perception... (and it ought to cost a lot, anyway... ) ; but if some 3rd party (CV ?) had the will to try, welcome... 90 or 135 x 2 with a small device is always a tempting accessory, and so better if at a good price.

dkCambridgeshire Posted July 5, 2014 Share #15 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) Show us some results once you get it. Visited a forum friend yesterday to show him the the Komura 2x and tried it with Elmar-C 90mm f4 fitted to Olympus E-M1 M4/3 camera thus giving equivalent of 360mm on FF … handheld at f5.6 with IS 'ON' Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! And crops of same And the build quality of the converter is excellent. On M4/3 format the Komura 'M' converter has lots of possibilities - especially using a 135mm lens which will try next to give 540mm FF equivalent. EricC Posted July 5, 2014 Share #16 Posted July 5, 2014 Hi, Which LTM adapter are you using with the convertor?
dkCambridgeshire Posted July 5, 2014 Share #17 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) Hi,Which LTM adapter are you using with the convertor? Not using an LTM adaptor … Elmar-C has 'M' bayonet … attach the 90mm Elmar C directly to the Komura 2x M convertor and also attach a JinFinance Leica M to M4/3 adaptor. 90mm Elmar C was originally made 1973-77 for the Leica CL rangefinder. dunk Edited July 5, 2014 by dkpeterborough
EricC Posted July 5, 2014 Share #18 Posted July 5, 2014 Ah, my mistake. Thanks for the reply. I did mean the LTM adapter on the rear of the Komura itself to allow mounting on an M body. The Komura LTM adapter that came with mine has the large cutout and when i last tried it the M could not see any lens mounted. Are you focusing via an EVF or Rangefinder? No rangefinder on the Olympus E-M1 - focus using camera's built-in EVF which is superb. dunk
EricC Posted July 5, 2014 Share #20 Posted July 5, 2014 I will have to try it with the EVF on the M. Cheers
