Does anyone know where I might buy a USB cable to connect with my computer? [the size of the socket is different from the later V-Lux 30 or 40]

If I'm not mistaken, the the V-Lux 20 is the same camera as the Sony DMCZS7, for which there are plenty of offers on eBay, not all of them expensive.

Go to the closest electronics-store, show them the camera and they will surely be able to provide you with cable you need.

There are different types/sizes of USB-plugs (Mini, Micro, etc.), and if you don't want to find the right one by comparing pictures online, just ask the people who work with those things every day.

I got one from Hong Kong over the internet, About £12. Not Leica of cours, but it works. Unfortunately I haven't kept a note of the firms name
