TwinSparx Posted January 18, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, Newbie to the forum and hope to learn more tips and tricks on how to best utilise my cameras. Have had a dlux4 safari edition for many years before getting a vlux4. The Vlux was a sensational step up from that little compact and got me hooked on photography again. Recently have acquired an X1 and still learning how to go back to basics without any zoom and auto-everything. Hope to participate in as many discussions and learn from you guys. Cheers!! MarkP Posted March 28, 2014 Share #13 Posted March 28, 2014 So we really should try to organise an Australian meeting (ie Melbourne) as per the other thread.

erl Posted March 28, 2014 Share #15 Posted March 28, 2014 Another welcome from Melbourne. Re a meeting, as mooted for Melbourne, we could look at April, Saturday 5 or 12 for example. Those interested maybe should post in this thread:http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/315546-melbourne-australia-meetings.html. Ideas for 'what to do' and how could be discussed over there. I would suggest Lunch, competition and/or walk around followed by dinner for those interested. Other ideas welcomed. Can't do April 12 although I will be down in Melbourne that weekend with my wife and daughter. We are going to the Melbourne University open day for her to look at course options. Maybe I can come down for the 5th unless we want to run it in May. Will get back to you.

I always say, take the first option. That way the later one is still available if required. So, other willing participants needed to speak up for April 5. ie. next W/E. Post away and see what we can muster. A program should not be too dificult to rustle up.

I'm really sorry, but I can't do April 5 after all. Family & work commitments including on-call What about some time in May? Melbourne is so much nicer when its colder. erl Posted March 29, 2014 Share #19 Posted March 29, 2014 That's fine mark. Of course Melb can be fine in May too. I have tentatively slotted a trip to Vietnam in May but that is so wide open I haven't even penciled it in yet. We shall just keep chipping away at it.
