I have spoken to Will at the Tasting Room and reserved

tables. He is looking forward to seeing our crowd

 

Also I have spoken to Alison at Ace Cameras and she is

also looking forward to meeting us and is going to speak

to Leica and see if they are interested in doing something

for us. If not, she will ensure that Ace Cameras make

us welcome themselves!

I went on a similar Leica event last year in Poole organised by the local dealer and he got the Leica sales rep to come..

He seemed like a good, knowledgeable chap and would be useful to have along.

 

Maybe he could bring some sample lenses to try and maybe even offer discounts?

Unfortunately we are going to have to cancel. Something's come up and I have to fly to the Philippines on Thursday and I will only arrive back into Heathrow on Saturday evening the 19th.

 

I'm really disappointed as we were both very much looking forward to this get together. However, I hope the weather is good and the beer superb; oh yeah, and some brilliant photography.

If you do a StreetView of the address of the venue, and look towards the camera shop, there is a pedestrian who is 100% recognisable to his Mum.

 

I thought that Google were supposed to blur all people out of these images.

Mind you, I can see my wife driving to work leaving our village on StreetView, but it's the car she had at the time that was the give away.

The bluring is done automatically based on face detection in the image. I guess because the guy is only showing a bit of his face it hasn't detected two eyes and a mouth and therefore hasn't blured it. Note how it did blur the face in the advert to the right of the two people.

I had a phone call from The Tasting Room today. For a reservation the size of ours

they required a deposit of £10 per head. Now, we have 18 names on the list including

Lynn and I and, allowing for some not being able to make it on the day, I have paid a

deposit for 12 people. This means that the first 10 people to arrive, besides my wife

and I, owe me a tenner Don't all stay away now

 

Anyway, with just over a week to go this is a timely reminder for everyone!
