wilfredo Posted October 28, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm hoping this is simply a card issue. I'm using a SanDisk Extreme 16GB card on my new MM and some files won't show on the camera screen. Instead this is what I get. Once I load them onto the computer, I can see all of them. Any ideas what the issue may be? Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! pgk Posted October 28, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 28, 2013 My guess is a card issue - format not as the camera's expecting it? I downloaded this software (I read a post about it here somewhere): https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ After formatting the card using this I've had no problems. 250swb Posted October 28, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 28, 2013 Don't delete files but format cards in the camera to delete content, leaving you with a fresh card each time. Steve
colint544 Posted October 28, 2013 Share #5 Posted October 28, 2013 My old M9, and now my M Monochrom both do exactly the same thing, regardless of which card I use. But only once I've removed the card from the camera, looked at files on the computer, then put the card back into the camera. Then, any files I've ticked and viewed on Photo Mechanic, come up just as in your picture. I had put it down to a slightly irritating quirk that I learned to put up with. Bill W Posted October 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2013 I have never had a problem with taking a card from my M9 or MM, viewing them on Adobe Bridge and putting the card back in the camera and viewing them there again. All of my cards are Sandisk either 8 or 16's
wilfredo Posted October 30, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted October 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is this something that should be addressed by a firmware update? I never had this issue with my M8.
2wk Posted October 31, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 31, 2013 I was told by Leica to use 8gb cards in my MM. Also, Sandisk cards are well documented as being troublesome in the Monochrom. I now use TRANSCEND cards with no problem (although not the fastest). I have also just ordered the Panasonic Gold Pro card, which was very expensive and somewhat hard to find. I have the same issue with my M240. This happens when I used ACR to open and view the files. When I insert the card back into the M240, it only shows the DNG file name. I have tried using Sony, Sandisk and Transcend cards, but each gave the same result. It never happened with my DMR, M8 or any other digital cameras I have used. wilfredo Posted October 31, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted October 31, 2013 Looks like a lot of us are on the same boat. Any Leica experts care to comment?
M. Valdemar Posted November 3, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 3, 2013 Very common firmware bug. I have had exactly the same problem on several M digital bodies. This is a very silly thing to happen and remain unfixed on such an expensive camera. It has never happened to me on any other camera including the cheapest point and shoots. jaapv Posted November 5, 2013 Share #14 Posted November 5, 2013 Basically that should be enough. It may also just be the card. I had one -out of eight- Lexar Pro 16 GB (new) do the same on my M240
xdayv Posted November 6, 2013 Share #15 Posted November 6, 2013 Had troubles with Sandisk Extreme Pro, shifted to Lexar for the MM since then...
