Advertisement Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Hi Brett Cambern, Take a look here 50 APO Summicron. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JerryYordy Posted October 11, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2013 The review is interesting, but he only tests it on the M, comparing it to the non-APO 50mm lens. It would have been more interesting, at least to me, if he tested it on the M Monochrom.
jplomley Posted October 11, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2013 And tested it against the 50 Lux Asph at comparable aperture.

Paul J Posted October 11, 2013 Share #6 Posted October 11, 2013 Hmmm...I don't subscribe anymore so can only go on memory but remember there being a night and day difference. Enough to make me want one right there and then.
IWC Doppel Posted October 12, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Shame Sean's site is subscription. Useful if your starting out with lots of information on lenses and cameras to digest, but for one review or two for me doesn't make sense for me financially. IWC Doppel Posted October 12, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 12, 2013 PS I did have a brief shoot with the 50 APO when it first came out and was very impressed.
250swb Posted October 12, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 12, 2013 I'd trust Sean's tests more. And the APO does look like an exceptional lens, although it shouldn't be forgotten that the normal Summicron is no slouch and will continue to be used for making exceptional images. algrove Posted October 21, 2013 Share #10 Posted October 21, 2013 I can see from his comments I must send my 50/2.0 into Leica NJ for focus shift adjustment. Thanks Sean.

algrove Posted October 23, 2013 Share #13 Posted October 23, 2013 With 4-6 weeks to fix "bad" lenses, look like we are back to equivalent of the lug nut issue with the M.
gpwhite Posted October 26, 2013 Share #14 Posted October 26, 2013 There are "bad" 50 AA? Next you will relate there are bad Noctliuxes? They all seem so good to me !
platypus Posted October 26, 2013 Share #15 Posted October 26, 2013 The bad of a best bunch?
algrove Posted October 26, 2013 Share #16 Posted October 26, 2013 There are "bad" 50 AA? Next you will relate there are bad Noctliuxes? They all seem so good to me ! Some of the APO50 even Leica says they should be sent in for "repair". So I would not say those that need the "repair" work are to be considered good.
