aintchu9 Posted August 16, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The attached images may be helpful for those of you considering the purchase of any of these products. I guessed on the colors and fit. Personally, I'm very pleased with all. YMMV. Hope this helps. Chris Welcome, dear visitor! 250swb Posted August 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2013 I am sorry, but it is like taking a healthy wafer thin Ryvita cracker and spreading lard on it Steve
Thomv Posted August 16, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2013 Luigi is very, very good. All the rest is a matter of taste.
bill_murray Posted August 16, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2013 Does it take long to undo all the clasps, straps and fasteners and stow the lens cover etc before you can actually take a picture? Beautiful leather work though.
marknorton Posted August 16, 2013 Share #5 Posted August 16, 2013 My mileage certainly does vary. I think this one is ghastly as well. Note how easy the LV button is to get at. But if it makes you happy...
aintchu9 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted August 16, 2013 Oh... I'd say it takes about as long to open and push the custom made "LV" button about the same amount of time as this GHASTLY trusty old handmade item of mine that hails from y'alls neck of the woods. gabriel Posted August 16, 2013 Share #7 Posted August 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see from the picture of the rear of the case that you have the same misalignment issue with the rear opening as I have on my Luigi M240 half case. I took this up with Luigi and he said that the camera would bed down, I do not accept this.
jaapv Posted August 17, 2013 Share #8 Posted August 17, 2013 I find the rear cutouts rather messy. Not what I'm used to from Luigi.
StephenPatterson Posted August 17, 2013 Share #9 Posted August 17, 2013 I also don't think this is Luigi's best work, as the botton is very uneven and the LV button is not accessible.
rramesh Posted August 17, 2013 Share #10 Posted August 17, 2013 Wonder if you will need another cutout for a longer lens. ;-)
StephenPatterson Posted August 17, 2013 Share #11 Posted August 17, 2013 If you remove the red dot then reattach it within a few minutes using the same adhesive it will rotate in the mount (as seen here). The double sticky adhesive needs 30min-1 hour to straighten itself out after being twisted during removal.
viramati Posted August 17, 2013 Share #12 Posted August 17, 2013 Why? Apart from the looks it would all appear just to add up to a camera that is harder to use and even the thumbs up would appear to detract from the ergonomics of the camera. But hey, each to his own
digitalfx Posted August 17, 2013 Share #13 Posted August 17, 2013 not a fan...the cover is ugly imo, and huge. Do you actually carry it around with the cover on?
platypus Posted August 17, 2013 Share #14 Posted August 17, 2013 The case = maybe a bit clunky looking? Beautiful camera though!
Ecaton Posted August 17, 2013 Share #15 Posted August 17, 2013 Oh... I'd say it takes about as long to open and push the custom made "LV" button about the same amount of time as this GHASTLY trusty old handmade item of mine that hails from y'alls neck of the woods. The bag is cool, the Luigi case not so much my thing. Is this your camera bag?
macjonny1 Posted August 17, 2013 Share #16 Posted August 17, 2013 My mileage certainly does vary. I think this one is ghastly as well. Note how easy the LV button is to get at. But if it makes you happy... Agree again. Ghastly. Love Saying that word
Ulev Posted August 17, 2013 Share #17 Posted August 17, 2013 I find the rear cutouts rather messy. Not what I'm used to from Luigi. +1 Covering that LV button partly in combination with the thickness of the leather makes it very difficult for sure to use it properly. I am about to order a full case but now I have second toughts. Maybe it's a good idea to send a screen shot to Luigi/Ginevra, in order to point things out ? They have a quality product for sure, but this is unacceptable.
MarkP Posted August 17, 2013 Share #18 Posted August 17, 2013 Hi Chris, don't be despondent about the negative comments. No, it's not to my taste either but what a boring place the world would be if we all liked and disliked the same things. However, Id rather see what you can do with it so please post some photographs taken with that fantastic camera and lens. Mark ps. and welcome to the forum despite the rocky start
StephenPatterson Posted August 17, 2013 Share #19 Posted August 17, 2013 Just for reference here's my Luigi half case. I don't have any issues with the LV button, but as you can see the bottom of the case is not level. I can't really say it has "settled" any since I started using it. Welcome, dear visitor!
