Advertisement Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi lambroving, Take a look here Ojai - More Spanish. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted April 8, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 8, 2007 William, Â lovely shot - the zig-zag forms and the beautiful clarity really stand out.
martinop Posted April 8, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 8, 2007 Interesting Ojai series. The architectures, views and color / lighting tones are appealing on all 3 shots. This is my favorite composition wise.
beramos Posted April 8, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 8, 2007 William, it seems that I am seeing some part of AndalucÃa (Spain). Good capture with a difficult light. I like it.
MrEd Posted April 8, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 8, 2007 Amazing colors. Nice crisp and warm day.... Thanks. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â .
lambroving Posted April 8, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted April 8, 2007 John, Â That's what caught my eye. This passage is just outside the conference center where all our meetings were held. In the evening they set up tables here for smaller group dinners and a blazing fire rages in that fireplace. 250K really crunches this shot though. Â Paul, Â Glad you enjoyed. Definitely the color is very different in California. Â Bernardo, Â Right! The light was tough but it was all I had. While it might look a lot like Spain, the food was not. Those Californians are too healthy. Local wines there are pretty close though. Â Ed, Â They have cool nights and comfortable days for most of the year. That was the reason for holding our meeting there while it was still snowing in the NE. Great place to live if you don't mind mountains that shake and mud slides. A trailer there would cost more than your house.
stuny Posted April 9, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) W, III - Â I like this much better than the other Ojai one due to it's profusion of angles/geometry, and richer colors. Lovely shot.
andybarton Posted April 9, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Best one of the series so far, William. Â The angles, exposure and composition make this a winner. Â How high up in the mountains is this?
pemayeux Posted April 9, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted April 9, 2007 I agree with the others, this shot is the charm of the series. Perfectly executed composition and exposure. This shot makes me want to get out and shoot. Paul.
ddp Posted April 10, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Nicely done all around...I also agree with the others as this being the strongest of the series. Also has that texture we talk about all the time....
billh Posted April 11, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted April 11, 2007 Really pretty. Nice exposure and scan too.
lambroving Posted April 12, 2007 Author Share #12 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Obviously this is the fave and I agree there is enough resolution and detail in this negative for a huge print. Only wish the light had softened for a few hours during the two days I was there..., but it wasn't to be. Â Paul, Â Flattery will get you everywhere... My pictures are just for me and I only give or sell them when people ask, but it's always nice when other photographers whose work I like also enjoy them. Â Andy, Â The inn is at ~ 700' but the mountains around rise steeply to 4,500..., and these are the mountains which shake...
cam2000 Posted April 12, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Very nice perspective..... and colorful!
leicamann Posted April 15, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted April 15, 2007 This is the best of the set William..the light is extremely bright and contrasty..the film and lens handled this no problemo.. Â Thanks for sharing, Â Regards, Leicamann
lambroving Posted April 19, 2007 Author Share #15 Â Posted April 19, 2007 Jacques & John, Â Glad you both enjoyed. Shot three frames because I was uncertain any film could pull this off, but the NC did well in all three exposures. The 35/2 ASPH handled the Leica 3-D. The .58 35mm frame is so relatively accurate, BTW, that this is completely uncropped.
imported_peter_m Posted April 20, 2007 Share #16 Â Posted April 20, 2007 William, Â I like this one the best out of the series. You sure got a good handle on the light, looks to be similar to what we get up here and it is anything but ideal to get decent pictures. darkness30 Posted April 21, 2007 Share #17 Â Posted April 21, 2007 William, the set is very beautifully done. As usual you have great success with the color palette here. Â You should come to Turkey and photograph either Bodrum or Pamukkale. Â Thanks Mehmet
