bocaburger Posted July 22, 2013 Share #21 Posted July 22, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The same was true with the M8 due to the crop. I always had to use the DOF markings for one stop wider/faster than I was shooting. That's the easiest way to deal with it.
Advertisement Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Hi bocaburger, Take a look here M Typ 240 - niggles and grumbles. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted July 22, 2013 Author Share #22 Posted July 22, 2013 lct, that is not at all what I mean — and looks very digital to me. It's difficult to describe a look, which, as stated, I see as somewhat like transparency film; and all I can say is that so far I haven't seen what I like about the M9 color rendition coming out of the M240, but we'll see... —Mitch/Bangkok Bangkok Obvious [WIP] Eggleston said that he was "at war with the obvious"... Just buy the darn thing and create your own style, Mitch. What others do is hardly relevant. As you know how to get from your tool what you want, I'm sure you'll be totally happy. algrove Posted July 23, 2013 Share #23 Posted July 23, 2013 Been getting many lockups lately with a Sandisk 45 card 32GB. No lockups before this. It has happened when shooting many photos in succession on S. Also had it appear to take a photo and then when I looked at the red LED it was either flashing continuously or just stayed constantly on red. Sometimes turn on and off to clear. Hit play and last image not there. Very frustrating at times.
lct Posted July 23, 2013 Share #24 Posted July 23, 2013 Did you format your card with SDFormatter?

lct Posted July 26, 2013 Share #26 Posted July 26, 2013 Did not get lockups but considerable slowdowns with a Sandisk card as well. Formatting it with SDFormatter fixed the issue. I would try the same here.
Paulus Posted July 26, 2013 Share #27 Posted July 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree. Neither of my Luigi cases work because, they both use the Luigi tripod screw. Stephen reported that the cases fit so, I put my new M in one and tried to screw the Luigi tripos screw in and successfully managed to screw a perfect off-set counter sunk indent into the bottom plate through the black paint - first ding to my M only a few hours after I got it. I do agree that the tripod hole is in a better place, though. Rick, do you use a M9 luigi case on the M 240 or a new one specially made for the M 240? jaques Posted July 26, 2013 Share #28 Posted July 26, 2013 hmmm, today I joined the Club! was amazed when my dealer rang unexpectedly: black body boxed and in stock. My credit card is in shock... PTSD... early days but... first niggle... battery: charged for 3 hours. 80% lit up after one hour... after another two the green light hadn't stopped flashing...? i couldn't wait any more. Charger looks far more impressive than M9 one and appropriate for the caliber of camera... 2nd niggle: body covering feels slightly slippery to me? I prefer the more pebbled covering on the chrome M9-p. 3rd: set to default 'auto' iso... surely should have been good old ASA/ISO160? what is this: a P&S camera? that's all te niggles for now- far more positives to consider... so far very happy... much more to play with. lawman Posted July 28, 2013 Share #29 Posted July 28, 2013 Just got my chrome M and find it a big improvement over the M9, but I have had several lock ups using a Lexar 400mb/sec 32 gb card and had to remove the battery to get things going again. Also when trying out the movie function I got a continuous whine which I could only stop by removing the battery- anyone else encounter this problem ?? Otherwise I love the camera so far and focussing seems dead on.
