While waiting to meet a client found this dilapidated boardwalk that lead to a beautiful (but near inaccessible) lake vista. The boardwalk is broken from downed trees, algae is growing on the planks making the surface slick, mosquitos as big as birds and twice as hungry abound, and there are venomous water moccasins awaiting your fall. A live-action "Pitfall" adventure! I heard the local high schoolers keep cutting the fence to access the remote area to fish and hang out; sounds like something I would have done in my youth. Of course now I think of the liability so that certainly means I am getting old!

Nice image. The story behind the image makes it even better.

I expected a current variation of Digilux 2, with in particular some pixels in more on the same sensor 2/3” and one more modern viewfinder.

But especially without modifying the exceptional optic of this Digilux 2 (Vario Summicron 28/90 - f.2/f2,4).

That would be a gift. (from Wotan?)

From our little ride about today this is preserved Canadian Pacific 8015 on the Alberta Central Railway. This is a small operation with a one mile loop of track and a selection of rolling stock including 8015 and a CP Dayliner. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. This is 8015 running through the station on the 1.30 departure.

Ce serait un cadeau. (de Wotan?)

Hello,

I see you mentioned me (2013...)

Unfortunately this new Digilux 2 will not come.
I keep mine precious, next to the X Vario, obviously...   :)

Another from our Sunday ride-about. This is the welcoming committee at the farm adjacent to the Alberta Central Railway. Some of these horses get used at the railway on their themed weekends. The grain elevator in the background is the old Hobbema No2 Elevator and is under restoration.

Another jpeg out of camera, no adjustments, other than cropping. XV settings were normal with exception of jpeg color- vivid (not that vivid was needed in this case).

ISO 100  f/4.0  1/640  focal length 18mm (28 equiv)

Tom, you have a very contrasty subject, slightly under-exposed which I think could be improved with PP. But it is your choice.

yes, for sure. it was a quick grab of a shot, and agree it can use some work in pp. i've been fascinated about what the jpeg out of this camera, without processing can produce, and in this case the vivid setting wasn't really necessary. fortunately i have the raw file to play with.
