Yesterday I visited St Andrews Church, Ufford - midway between Peterborough and Stamford - which dates from the 12th C. The disused church's interior and exterior has considerable photographic potential. I was fascinated by the monument to Lady Bridget Carre in the chancel ... she was 'Gentlewoman of the Privy Chamber to Queen Elizabeth 1' from 1578 until the end of Elizabeth's reign ... and then 'Gentlewoman to Queen Anne', wife of James 1, until her own death in 1621.  Her face reminds me of Dame Edith Sitwell ... poet and critic who frequently appeared on BBC TV in the 1950s (when I was a lad).

The X Vario is an excellent 'tool camera' and its built-in flash can provide a very useful fill-in light when necessary.

Leica X Vario ISO 400 34.2mm (52mm FF equiv) 1/10 sec f5.2  ... diffused X Vario 'pop-up' flash ... flash lens covered with piece of tissue ... light in the chancel was very dim.

I will be returning to the church ... yesterday's trip was a reconnaissance.

This shot is excellent and lifts the Leica X-Vario to a new level. Well done!

Thank you very much David. There is much more possible with the Leica X-Vario than you may believe. Best regards.

David you have a very nice website!

Thank you Leica-x and Firoze. Please do leave a comment on my site to show international interest. It is a non-commercial website with my main intention to help photographers new to Leica digital ownership, especially users of older equipment.
