I know the images aren’t that interesting, but the rollei is hard to focus, so I need to practice. As I had some exposures left, I just shot around. The portraits I made on this roll all failed, due to lack of focus on 2.8. My bad. But, it is a journey… Olaf,  i completely agree: the amount of detail on a well exposed and well developed MF negative is amazing. As to the portraits:  I often find the DOF of the 80 mm lens with aperture 2,8 often a bit tight for a portrait....why don't you start at f 4.0 or even 5,6 --provided you have a "quiet" background ?  Apart from that ( just my "deformation professionelle" ) : have you tried your reading or computer  glasses with the Rollei screen ?  Am 25.9.2023 um 12:03 schrieb stray cat: the usual suspects, spain 1986 canon, fp4 What a find, Phil ! Really forgot that iso100 is too little. regarding the glasses: i use them some old ones which are maybe .5 off so I will give it a try with my latest reading glasses. Thanks.

Ouroboros Posted September 28, 2023 Share #87970  Posted September 28, 2023 Garenin Blackhouse Village, Isle of Lewis. A coastal crofting village that was inhabited until 1974.  Garenin has been restored and is part living museum and part accommodation for people who wish to stay there.  Blackhouses were the traditional method of building houses for centuries in the Western Isles, there are remains of Blackhouses all over the Islands.  I stayed here for a week around 25 years ago, a wonderful place to hang out.  So peaceful and cosy inside! Popular Post Ouroboros Posted September 29, 2023 Popular Post Share #87975  Posted September 29, 2023 Around 18 months ago a retired photographer friend of mine gave me some rolls of 35mm colour negative films he found in a drawer.  They are all odd branded films that I'd never heard of, the sort of generic C41 100iso thing you'd be given as a freebie when you took your film to the local chemist to have your holiday snaps 'developed'. I think the films are probably anywhere between 20-30 years old.  Two weeks ago I was having a clear-out and found a Canon Sureshot A1 waterproof point and shoot camera in a cupboard, the camera has not been used for a similar length of time.  Fortunately I must have had the foresight to remove the battery when I put the camera away.  I put in a fresh battery and the camera sprang to life so I decided to take it with me for a swim. I thought the camera would probably die instantly in the water, but the seals seem to have survived the long hibernation and the camera lives on!  Swimming two weeks ago with a camera and film with a combined age of between 50-60 years:  Canon Sureshot A1 waterproof p&s C41 100iso negative film of unknown origin.  Welcome, dear visitor! Popular Post stray cat Posted September 30, 2023 Popular Post Share #87979  Posted September 30, 2023 Back in 1980 I was hitch-hiking my way around Europe and happened to be picked up a couple of times by the same Canadian couple so we decided to just stick together. One fine day we thought we might to take a picnic - mainly consisting of cheap wine, but with some token bread and cheese - out to Versailles where we found ourselves sharing the day with a movie crew. My research yesterday (thanks, Google) concluded that the movie was a British telemovie called "Miss Morison's Ghosts" and, unlike nowadays, they didn't seem to mind being photographed during those long quieter moments: Welcome, dear visitor!
