Winter walks # 10.   The combo of PanF and Rodinal yields a less grainy negative --- usually.  In this case the grain is ok, it was a dull, grainy morning anyway....

No, the path did not see me escaping up the hill. nor did the previous posting (from the hill side) see me climb on the train to leave .... I lingered in the harsh and challenging landscape and was rewarded by lessons of patience as I tended my curiosity.

Thank you Charles for your  poetic comment. Quite fitting the place and the landscape. If the photo deserved it, the comment might be called congenial.  I don't know if the name of Friedrich Hölderlin has crossed your path--he was born just two miles away in the direction of the photos view. FH was and is one of the pivots of german romanticism and had a close connection to the beginnings of the german idealism. Interesting your words tune in to this so well.

Marc, great picture. And for me this is another blow to the wisdom of the forum, that the Apocron 50 has no character, is too analytical, you name it. You show that all lies in the hands of the photographer. A beautiful model doesn't do any harm either...

Dimitry, I like this very much. Film noir. The crossing diagonals. Man. Woman. Sea.

Thank you very much for your kind comments Klaus. I totally agree, the Apo is also working very good with analog cameras. It is not too sharp at all. I am very curious because now I got an old 1.4/50 Summilux from 1959, can't wait to see the results and to compare it with the Apo. And yes, for sure, the model plays a very important role....😉

New camera/lens test.

I recently acquired a Rolleiflex 6008i with two lenses - 80mm and 150mm. On my first roll I I thought I'd try to find out how the two lenses went at their minimum focus distances, which are 0.9 meters for the 80mm and 1.4 meters for the 150mm. I was a bit surprised to find that the 150mm really gets in there really quite tightly vs the 80mm:

I have the same Zeiss lenses in Hasselblad mount and have had some superb results (on film and more recently using a Phase One back, completely off-topic for this thread).  Are the Rollei versions better, or is it that you prefer the way the 6008i operates?
