Excuse the avalanche, but I'm going away for two weeks.

Well, we're left with an avalanche but no St. Bernard with a barrel of brandy round its neck... although perhaps Adam's Dorothy had one out of picture.

We are left with a BARRAGE of color and intriguing assemblages - enough to keep us well occupied!

Bon voyage, and remember to take lots of film! And a camera!

Wow that is s-h-a-r-p! I love the perspective and how the wall leads towards the Minster. Very well executed. Out of curiosity was the XP2 developed in C41 or HC-110?

Thanks for the comment. The film was developed in C41 by a lab. I sometimes develop my own B&W films but I always leave XP2 to the professionals.

The 28mm Elmarit-M ASPH seems to handle direct sunshine quite well...  MP & AgfaVista 200.

Marc,

I do like such photos and take them often by myself. Most of them i took with my digital cameras. When I see this stunning one, I think, I have to take more with my analogue items :)

As you know, there are some buildings in my hometown, which are worth to do so ;)

Nice picture... and I'm curious about the remnants of the older structure. It has some historical significance?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Thank you, James.

These are remnants from an old mansion, which was destroyed in WW2. The cubic building inside is a museum. It was built in there a couple of years ago.

James, this snow series of your is outstanding. This picture shows that whiteout effect perfectly - a very subtle trailing off of tones and definition, but you have captured it perfectly here. Your work with all manner of cameras is a joy to behold - for example, notably, the Mamiya with Cinestill is producing spectacular pictures as well.

Hi Phil. thank you much for these encouraging words! I - as seemingly many others - am sometimes in doubt about the right path in photography. Whenever I come to this thread, I see the work of other gifted talents, who seem to me much more consistent than I am. Against many an advice I have read, I don't care to much about the approach of using one camera / one lens / one film only but rather change my gear as I change my trousers. In this context your praise comes in very gratifying :)

I found these negatives (that I forgot about) under a pile of books on my coffee table. Was trying to flatten them. These were shot a few years ago. I was testing a camera that was gifted to me, a Canon AE-1 Program with a 50 mm lens. I did these scan this past Friday (after nearly a week in Vegas for work, scanning was my resting therapy). I used my newly acquired 9000ED and I must say, using the 35mm holder is a bit of a pain. I think I prefer my 5400 for scanning 35mm, though the 9000 is of course great for 120.

Film used was expired TMax 100 and I can't remember the developer, it was either D76 or XTOL.

I really like the contrasts and structures in these pictures!

I posted the colour version (Ektar 100) in #58507 but then decided I wasn't happy with the colour balance (often a problem for me), so decided that the strong shapes plus light/shade would make it a better image in b&w.

(Fuji GW690II, ON1 Photo 10 plug-in)

Don't let the Doc catch you for this one :) I can absolutely understand your approach, as I often enough found the same problem regarding the "right" color balance. Nice and convincing conversion, in my opinion.
