hansvons Posted September 30, 2023 Share #87983  Posted September 30, 2023 (edited) 35mm Summicron M  ASPH @ f 8,0  Kodak 5207 (ISO 200 D) in Fuji C-41. Meet Smets Benyl, who mows grass that grows on the Zwarte Beek’s peatlands twice a year to maintain the extraordinary habitat. He uses a specialised tractor owned by Flemish NGO Natuurpunt. This area was once degraded and emitted large quantities of greenhouse gas. Today, it's a biodiversity-rich habitat that has stopped harming the climate. In 15-20 years, it will function as a carbon sink again. Healthy peatlands are the most powerful carbon sinks on land. HMY Iolaire ran onto The Beasts of Holm, a reef near the entrance to Stornoway harbour, during a storm on 1st January 1919.  Although not much more than 100m from the shore Iolaire sank with the loss of over 200 men, wiping out most of the remaining young male population of the Isle of Lewis which had already lost over 1000 men during WW1. The tragedy is still raw for many families on Lewis. Nikon FM2n 50mm f1.2 nikkor ai-s Delta 400 in XT-3  Welcome, dear visitor! What you say even applies, evidently, when the man is actually shorter than the woman and has to stand on a box! 2

Like yours a lot more, Phil. Skin tone and hair highlights are far better. And his right hand is where it ought to be. In the actual photo it looks like he really doesn't want to hold her, which, by then, was probably the case. He looks bored in the published one.
