I need to read up a bit more and would ideally like to try the different models first too. Awesome, good choice.Get the SWC first, you may not decide to go any further. The one I suggested?Gary

MT0227 Posted September 28, 2016 Share #21766 Posted September 28, 2016 Why avoid? I prefer these street photos. They tend to make me on the instruments and the subjects actions as opposed to the random people playing them whom I don't know. Cheers to Neil, Jane and Dean! I normally avoid taking this sort of picture, (street musicians) but I'd like to introduce Neil, Jane and Dean! three.jpg Leica MP - 35mm Summicron - Ilford HP5 (developed in HRX)

MT0227 Posted September 28, 2016 Share #21769 Posted September 28, 2016 Philip, I'm not sure of your budget, but I've done a fair amount of research. If you can, look for an SWC with serial numbers from around 1986-88. These are more or less the 903 in the older look, at a much better price. You will get the enhanced finder from the 903 with the bubble level also on the camera. The latter is a nice to have it you plan to use a low level finder or some other form that does not have a level built in (they took away the bubble on the camera in the 903). It will also have the Prontor, CF Lens. The other suggestion would be those serial-ed between 1982-85, these models started with the new Prontor shutter, CF lens but will have the older finder and bubble level on the camera. Enjoy the search! -Marc Good thinking Gary. I'll have a think about that one. I need to read up a bit more and would ideally like to try the different models first too.

EoinC Posted September 28, 2016 Share #21771 Posted September 28, 2016 Tmax400 and D76 1:1... very good combination. And are you sure, that a Makina 67W AND a SWC is not too much to handle for you? I would take care of the SWC, totally selflessly ;-) You'll have to get in the queue, Klaus. I've been camped out here for months, waiting for someone to donate their SWC to a worthy cause.
