It's interesting to me how some of the color images look like they could have been from a different lens, particularly the ones with low contrast, low color and light flare though at the same time, it's all about personality.

Many of the B&W images look like they were also taken with the MM and I'm sure many of them could have been.

The detail on the B&W images looks to be outstanding. Then again, I don't know how many of those are from the MM or M (converted to B&W.)

I'm sorry to learn about the problems with the early lens, though I know Leica will get that fixed and get the newer ones out with the performance intended.

One question I have about Flickr. When a image is clicked and goes almost full screen, is that image being scaled? Or is it that actual full size as the photographer submitted to Flickr?

Right click on an image in Flickr & it will pop up a menu to choose a different size.

All of these are Monochrom with the 50AA:

Evidently I've been viewing images there at full size possible simply by using "Control" "Right Click." In that process, I can pick 20, 30, 40 or more quite easily and delete the tabs one by one to view.

I found the page where I can make a selection of "size" and the largest size is the same as using "Control" "Right Click."

I don't think anyone seriously believes the lens is made any more even taking into account Leica's habit of making lenses in batches. They're on the move to Wetzlar so it may see the light of day again when they are settled in there but you don't start off in a new environment by making your more problematic product. It's going to be a while...

my dealer forwarded me a response from Leica a few days ago that said there is a long backorder line for the 50 APO Cron but no mention of production halt or specific restart. Leica encouraged my dealer to get an order in for the 50 APO Cron to get a place in line.

which does not really conflict with your point, but maybe indicates that things are moving forward to some degree if they are pushing for more orders. I would expect that if Leica was not going to build these soon they would discourage orders for it so buyers would buy other lenses. or maybe I'm over-thinking it.

checked few dealers in HK only one of them had one week ago, now its sold.

That lens had been offered to me in HKG but the price seemed excessive (near same as noct.95), plus I was not in town and they would only accept cash. Now two 50AAs with consecutive serial numbers are offered to me and the price for those is three times what the first one sold at. A lens from the previous batch (prior to the production halt) was available, but when i inquired as to whether it had been recalled to Chermany for service, it was decided that they would send it back and then I would be able to purchase with whatever adjustments made to address flare.

I am still waiting.
