DMJ Posted August 12, 2013 Share #143 Posted August 12, 2013 Two weeks ago got both my silver M & apo 50mm within 2 days of each other. Order placed in March '13 for both. Crippled my account, but the quality is awesome. Ordered with Dale Photographic Leeds UK.
John McMaster Posted August 12, 2013 Share #144 Posted August 12, 2013 Rather naughty given that there are still outstanding orders from over 12 months ago (mine) :-( john
DMJ Posted August 12, 2013 Share #145 Posted August 12, 2013 John there are so many variables in this game. However, a lot of luck and a good relationship with a dealer can sometimes help. Plus crossing lots of fingers. However, I didn't expect them to come together.
John McMaster Posted August 12, 2013 Share #146 Posted August 12, 2013 I have an excellent relationship with my dealer, who in turn has a superb one with the importer (who I know), it is just that only a single solitary 50mm AA has made its way to NZ so far.... john

John McMaster Posted August 12, 2013 Share #148 Posted August 12, 2013 My frustration was aimed more at Leica Mayfair than your purchase ;-) john
junah1 Posted August 13, 2013 Share #149 Posted August 13, 2013 My frustration was aimed more at Leica Mayfair than your purchase ;-) john I paid in full at the time of order and was prepared to wait, I was told that they like to clear "paid for items" quickly as I suppose technically I was a creditor of theirs. Ted Lemon Posted August 13, 2013 Share #150 Posted August 13, 2013 Leica Mayfair Thanks for letting me know. Had an order with a UK dealer for nearly a year now so wondering how they allocate the supply - obviously Leica shop comes first!
Ted Lemon Posted August 13, 2013 Share #151 Posted August 13, 2013 I paid in full at the time of order and was prepared to wait, I was told that they like to clear "paid for items" quickly as I suppose technically I was a creditor of theirs. If this was my dealers policy I would have paid in full too - but they don't do it this way to avoid queue jumping. However no sour grapes from me as I would have down the same as you given the opportunity. So well done on the purchase I hope the lens meets all your expectations. junah1 Posted August 13, 2013 Share #152 Posted August 13, 2013 I didn't know it would be here so soon, I paid for it and asked if they thought I would get it before Christmas, it was then that they told me it should be sooner than that. I suppose it's like the watch brands with their own boutiques, the manufacturers get the retailers profit as well, so it makes commercial sense to supply the outlets you own first. I've always been lucky and it's better to be lucky than good looking!
JHellow Posted August 13, 2013 Share #153 Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks for letting me know. Had an order with a UK dealer for nearly a year now so wondering how they allocate the supply - obviously Leica shop comes first! My APO 50 from last week did not come from a company store. Clandrel Posted August 15, 2013 Share #154 Posted August 15, 2013 Got one this week. It was not ordered. It was in stock in Norways biggest Leica shop. Strange, but I managed to order it straight from their website. /c
Nicolas Soldati Posted August 16, 2013 Share #155 Posted August 16, 2013 I ordered my 50AA on sept. last year and my M in December : still waiting both. :-( Fortunately my dealer will lend my a M9 for a workshop next week. :-)
Ted Lemon Posted August 16, 2013 Share #156 Posted August 16, 2013 Got one this week. It was not ordered. It was in stock in Norways biggest Leica shop. Strange, but I managed to order it straight from their website. /c Nice one! as someone said earlier in the thread it seems that they are turning up all over the place to no particular set pattern. Still - as they say - the best things are worth waiting for!
DMJ Posted August 21, 2013 Share #157 Posted August 21, 2013 From their website, it appears that Wilkinson Cameras in the UK have a 50 apo summicron in stock. Martin
jbl Posted September 7, 2013 Share #158 Posted September 7, 2013 I got an email yesterday from Photo Village that they'd gotten their first one in and I was at the top of the list. So there's another one out there. And, yes, I bought it . -jbl
JHellow Posted September 7, 2013 Share #159 Posted September 7, 2013 A friend received his from the Leica Store in DC last week. He was first on their list. Having received mine from Paul's Photo in Socal several weeks ago, I just removed my name from the DC Leica Store list.
