Deccan Chronicle Washington: In an elaborate April Fool's prank, Google said the company is launching Google Nose, a product that offers the sharpest olfactory experience available. In a page made to fool the users, it said - 'The new scentsation in search' on the product.

Maybe an April fools Day joke? Time will tell. It is also the first day of a new Fiscal Year at Leica. That is no joke.

On a whole other front what I found astounding when Thorsten's friend interviewed AK at Leica with a video he has posted, AK said he had not held a Leica in his hands prior to 2003. To the faithful and reading between the lines, that should have been the real news and it was not commented on from what I could see. Is everyone one of us asleep?

Andreas, I cannot understand why this has been moved to an April Fools Day listing. I have checked it out carefully and the Leica/Disney information is absolutely accurate. After verifying the Disney connection I contacted a very wealthy friend who then finessed an controlling interest in the Disney Corp. As a reward for my alertness he is requiring you to send me a gratuity consisting of a Monochrome, M and Super 50mm Cron. Please forward them to me from Leica USA who has my address. Regards, ron

There's a long tradition of Disney producing cameras in partnership with other firms. I remember the Mickey Mouse camera, in the shape of his head, which took 126 size film - I guess the X2 would make a perfect new platform for a digital version.

The other good news with this venture is that there will no doubt be far more accessories from Disney-Leica. Let's face it, Leica haven't made any bags for ages. Now there'll be all sorts of camera bags with all your favourite characters on. They will make you look like you're just carrying your child's lunch about, stealthy and safe to take with you on your travels, even to Detroit or Rome!
