SiggiGun Posted March 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there any new information about AA50 delivery? Here in France, it seems that very low quantity was delivered over the last 2 month.
Advertisement Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hi SiggiGun, Take a look here APO-SUMMICRON DELIVERY. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2013 My dealer in Switzerland says he has orders for at least four. The first one still has to show up...
enboe Posted March 24, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 24, 2013 An old colloquialism, something as rare as hen's teeth. So far from the reports here, I have heard of single digits being delivered in Germany and the U.S. That may imply many more quiet, satisfied users, or a very low output. Also, other than two showing up on ebay during the initial release week, I have not seen another. The results posted herein show it to be an item worth the wait, with some debate on being worth the cost. Best advice, place an order with your local dealer and enjoy the glass you have in the mean time.
KanzaKruzer Posted March 25, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2013 I ordered a 50APO on 5/10/12 and received it on 3/7/13. Feel lucky if you have both a Leica body and other lenses while you wait. I am still waiting for my M (240) to be able to use the lens.

I've been wondering about that too, but I figure they'll eventually be made and the demand will eventually stabilize (how many people want a 7k 50 f/2? Well, you and I do ). At least I'm hoping that's the way it drops.

I know for a fact two of us who got ours on 1 Feb 2013 and a third got his a day or two later.

jbl Posted March 26, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 26, 2013 Do we have any idea how many people are seriously wanting one? I can't imagine there's more than 100 people, but what do I know.. -jbl
Bill W Posted March 26, 2013 Share #10 Posted March 26, 2013 It would probably shock us if we knew that actual number waiting on a dealers list for one. Hopefully they will have a large production run soon. Of course a production run for Leica may be 25.

Jonathan, When the first shipment went out, there were a couple of them for sale at a 50% premium if I recall, about the price of the Noctilux. Both were sold fairly quickly. jbl Posted March 27, 2013 Share #16 Posted March 27, 2013 Wow, congratulations! Bill, thanks for that, I hadn't thought there were any. It sounds like we're looking a 6-12 of them known to exist.

johnbuckley Posted March 27, 2013 Share #18 Posted March 27, 2013 I picked up mine (east coast US dealer) today. Jeff -- woo hoo! You will love it. A matched pair with your Nocti. (I am in Mexico, and brought my Summilux, not the APO. If the M gets stolen, I'll get in line for a new one. But if the APO were stolen... Might not ever see another one...) sunil Posted March 27, 2013 Share #19 Posted March 27, 2013 Do we have any idea how many people are seriously wanting one? I can't imagine there's more than 100 people, but what do I know.. Nope. There are 10,000 people who want one since 9,900 of them plan to sell it on eBay hoping to make a killing. Leica are experts at creating demand. Good for them.
