Somewhere, way back in the post, are a couple D2 shots I contributed. I've been neglecting all my cameras quite a bit lately but I had occasion to pick up my Digilux 2 yesterday and quickly realized how much I missed it. This shot was taken pretty much right where I picked the camera up--couldn't resist putting it to work immediately. Weak sunlight streaming through our bedroom window onto my rather eclectic collection of natural history books...

Thanks for the kind words! Ideally, I would have cropped the door frame out of the lower right, but I was lucky that she stood there for the few seconds it took to get these... :)

BTW, I bounced the flash off of a door to her right. I just love the ability to bounce the built-in flash on the D2. I can't believe more cameras don't incorporate this feature. Maybe one day when I'm in charge... ;)

The bounce flash is rare for a built-in flash unit and I use it a lot for my informal pictures indoors.. It is always a joy to use.

I was about to comment on the longevity of my original Digilux batteries; but I won't tempt fate! I presume they are still available somewhere!

I was able to pick up some new original Leica batteries on eBay for a decent price. Unopened! I have 5 of them now...

Are this batteries still OK?

I ask because once I was on a vacation trip and I bought a battery it was not ok. No problem, because the seller changed it and gave me back the money.

I just won a Panasonic lc-1 after looking a few years for a Digilux2/lc-1

Now the seller describes the item as in very good shape and fully working, but the serial number is washed out, so my main concern would be a sensor failure, does anyone in Europe have any experience with panasonic customer service, in other words will they fix it?

Another thing is that i am thinking that since the camera is still working now, soon to be 2012 then there might not be any talk of sensor failure with it?

On another note i like to ask any owners of the cameras some questions regarding the jpeg output, anyone got any experience with tweaking the lc-1 jpegs to look more like the ones from digilux 2? I mostly shoot black&white (90% of the time) wont the b&w output be very similiar?

A last question, Does the raw files have the Leica magic that the digilux jpegs have?

Thanks for your time, this thread is wonderful!

Hello,

I think that Leica still gracefully replaces the sensors of D2 which are of origin.

I do not know for Panasonic. Perhaps it would be necessary to put the question to the manufacturer.

As regards the JPEG of the two apparatuses, I can only return you here :

Thank you!

To my eyes they are very close i guess the leica jpegs are a bit more flat and natural, anyway i like a bit of punch in black & white so maybe the pana black & white jpegs will be just my taste, both very good and both giving a distinctive look! :) cant wait for my camera to arrive, will be my only digicam to compliment my m6 for some time i guess.
