Hey all! I've been lurking here for a while (years). Got a D2 a while back, love it. Here are a couple of B&W shots from it...

Anna_Crying_sm.jpg

My daughter Anna, upset because she couldn't catch a chicken.

Miles_Lamb_Chop.jpg

My son Miles, having just crammed a bite of a lamb chop in his mouth.

22mm (90mm) @ f/2.4 is the best way to cheat the Digilux 2's sensor. If the camera has one image let down its the "everything in focus" look. These two images are perfect examples of how to coax a little Leica glow from it. Very nice!

Thanks for the kind words! I do love the bokeh at this focal length...

Great shots Hypnosapien. They have a wonderful sense of... personality.

I'm a cat lover so shots of Stanley et al are always going to score highly with me. Very nice.

I think it is fair to say that setting the D2 up for a shot is also a huge part of the enjoyment for a lot of D2 owners Misiekbunnik. Very nice shot, by the way. I love the way you've captured the texture of the glass.

Amin, having a 5D too, I think you will find the little D-2 will be an excellent addition. I like to use the D-2 for most of my travel shots because its so handy and a dream to use. Although I do love my M9, I find that when I go through my pictures it seems that I end up seeing more of the D-2 shots. The little flash is ok, however I really like to add another flash for more even exposures. Usually when using a shoe mounted flash I use the bounce technique off the ceiling when I can. Here are a few shots using this technique with the little D-2.

I have picked up my D2 a few days ago in excellent conditions a very well made camera. Is the body Titanium ? Tried a few shots found the 400 ISO to be to noisy , so I think I shall be using it like a sports car and take it out on sunny days. The flash I was impressed with for such a small one. Will be looking for some tips on this forum to get the best out of my D2 certainly is a classic camera. I have posted a couple of my first shots taken with the D2.

The D2 delivers - AGAIN!!!

In addition to the photo, I also really like the statue - it could be the subject of many photographs - especially from angles that include the sky (e.g. on a full moon one could juxtapose the moon to the earth (I assume) in the statue.)

I'd like to learn more about the statue, do you recall the name/artist from the plaque I see int he background?

Thanks,

Alberto

I really enjoyed taking out my newly acquired Leica digilux-2 this week for a first round of outdoor shots... best results i got when shooting manual though... I love holding and using that camera with its lovely lens.

Alberto thanks for your comments have only had my D2 a couple of weeks and am really enjoying using it.

The statue is "The force of nature II" by contemporary sculptor Lorenzo Quinn in Berkeley Square Mayfair in London. It is quite an impressive statue modern for its location in a historic location.
