Taken with the D2 MONOCHROM.

The shapely folds and contours of the White Horse Hill and the Vale of the White Horse, an ancient chalk carving on the hills of Oxfordshire in Southern England.

Best wishes to all

Here my first steps in a new (Leica) World:

I'm new to Leica and got my Digilux 2 from a retired Senior last week for less money.

Hi in the next days my D2 should arrive, bought one nearly mint. I'm very pleased to see this forum still on showing picture taking with this "old" Camera.

Any settings tips? Better JPG or RAW? Can LR 4.4 manage the Raw files?

Regards

Nic

Thanks for the shots. This is a very important contribution.

The members of the forum, especially D2 owners will be very happy to see more comparisons. Especially shot in the same time, same settings. And if possible uploaded in larger dimensions.

Hi

I' dont own the Vario X... I had possibility to try it in Zurich also outside from the Leica-Store.

Problem in this Forum is, I don't understand how to upload larger samples. Get always"picture to large"... I have to go down at a way, it makes no sense.

Anyway... I still love my Digilux 2....

The Vario X missed to be the really successor: No viewfinder, Elmarit vs. Summilux, Exposure-Button on D2 not on Vario X, more zoom, Flash at Digilux useable indirect = using Digilux2 Flash indoor for people means natural colors vs. Vario X Flashes direct in the face...(what I hate), I think battery-performance at D2 is also better)

Not a Joke ...for more Performance, I use a Samsung NX1000 with Pancakes.... 30/2.0 // 20/2.8 etc... Picture-Quality is very impressive... (I also own Fuji X100, Olympus PEN)...but the sharpest images comes from the NX1000. At 2.0 max. ISO400 for ultra low light...thats fine.

For the classic "Film-Like" incl. professional print outs, I use the D2.

It's great to read this, by someone who knows their Leicas and really has a feel for what could be. I've been satisfied (OK is the word) with the X Vario, but I never saw a D2 in person (how did I miss that?). Now I'm envious of something that never was.
