My subscription for the print version ends next month and as I now have an iPad Mini, I will switch to the iPad version. It is not that there is any problem with delivery - the magazine plops through the letterbox OK - I just figure it will be easier to read in bed. I'm of the same opinion; recently let my subscription lapse and now read it on my iPad. Noticed though that the latest copy has gone up in price compared to the previous editions. At least with the Audi magazine, I get it for free. LFI does have a bit of a marketing flavor, but it is not too excessive IMO. I think the interviews and portfolios presented are worthwhile as is the technical information. I enjoy LFI and have learner a lot about Leica M photography from reading it. Noticed this as well on the 1/2013 issue as well. If I remember correctly, when trying to buy my first iPad issue 7 or so months ago it asked me if I had a LFI subscription and the subscription #. I must say, however, that I'm not surprised that this is so; LFI is brand-centric. Still I was positively (very much actually) surprised when I read the first issue of the redesigned LFI post-photokina. The articles are generally of a much higher quality, in terms of both writing and subject-matter. I have the feeling that most have been written in English as opposed to translated from German. In the past articles have sometimes suffered from strange formulations and particularly complicated sentence structure. I was able to buy all the back issues for 99 cents each, newer ones are more, but that's okay, way less than buying in print and paying for shipping. Now if only the LFI app wouldn't crash so much. FrozenInTime Posted January 21, 2013 Share #17 Posted January 21, 2013 No problem with it crashing here either ( ipad2 ) but I know some apps e.g. Photo Raw get really slow when RAM is used up by other suspended apps ( and virtual SSD based memory is used ) . If you are still having issues, double tap the home button and close down some infrequently used apps. The leica specialty camera stores tend to get a few issues for sale. I can name 3 dealers within 30 miles of me. I also continue to subscribe. And to clarify my answer above, I too use an iPad 2.
