Ted, that is very bad luck. If you were intending to use the M to compete in the Challenge I will probably have an M8 as a spare with me. You are welcome to borrow it for the competition. Of course, the M6 is also a great camera. Your choice.

I'm totally overwhelmed of this two responses....

I will arrive to Wetzlar at wednesday afternoon and stay at hotel Best Western , Karl-Kellner- Ring 40.

So it will be plenty of time to decide how to manage these two great offers.

I keep in touch.

I've have made some precautions, earlier today I've purchased 3 rolls of film, Kodak Gould 200, and dusted of my M6 so i think everything will works out to the best. After all, I shall be in Germany for a week and like to take some photos.

I really look forward to this vacation......

Remember to put two new 2L76 button cells in your M6 or you may find the meter not working at the point of maximum inconvenience :)

At least it is not as bad as the MR-4 Leicameter on my M4, which needs a new zinc/air Wein cell every three months, used or not. Some MR-4's give accurate readings with a silver oxide cell but mine doesn't. I think some of the later models (maybe the black ones) must have a voltage regulator built in.

If anyone else is unsure about transport to the Leica factory tour and you are staying at "the Hof" leave a message at reception for me (auf den Namen Herr Bachmann) and perhaps we can arrange for a driver in the morning.

We are very foggy Bavaria now which may yield some lovely low contrast images.

Dan, I am also staying at the Hof and am happy to drive 3 people to the factory....

If you get an adjustment (resistor in parallel I think), then they can be made to take silver oxide batteries instead of the Wein cells.

Hi,

anyone who uses an iPhone and who might be interested in sharing his or her location not only to the NSA folks but to the other participants during the One Challenge as well, should send me an eMail and I will send an invite for a temporary "Wetzlar's One Challenge" event using the iPhone's "Friends" app.

The tracking starts immediately is scheduled to end on Sunday 04:00h pm.

To put you on the list, send an eMail to: carsten@photoallee.de

Take care,

Carsten

Yikes!

Just well I am leaving right now.

See you there.

Erl, the offer for a lift in my car if you want it. PM me your hotel details if you're interested.

I can also take two other people - provided don't mind the stigma of travelling a 10 year old Mondeo!

I'm staying at the Mercure.
