fuchs Posted March 13, 2007 Share #22 Posted March 13, 2007 Second generation 1.09, January 2007. 1400+ pics. Daily shooter. Upgraded to 1.092. Not a problem so far. Best Ed
joern Posted March 13, 2007 Share #23 Posted March 13, 2007 Received January. Second generation, Firmware 1.09 - now 1.9.2. Used every day. One problem - some of my jacket pockets have dents now ;-) For me first camera worth carrying around at anytime.
scho Posted March 13, 2007 Share #24 Posted March 13, 2007 2nd generation, 1.092, no problems
marknorton Posted March 13, 2007 Share #25 Posted March 13, 2007 I have two, one fixed, one second generation, both show magenta (and I don't think you can class this as a problem), and neither has showed any problems.

jaapv Posted March 13, 2007 Share #28 Posted March 13, 2007 2nd generation ,1.092 , 2000 images only problem is infinity focus is slightly off You know that is very easily user-adjusted, I suppose?
canlogic Posted March 13, 2007 Share #29 Posted March 13, 2007 Nov 4th, couple with magenta otherwise no problems. Just back from Germany with 1.092 no data yet.
pemayeux Posted March 13, 2007 Share #30 Posted March 13, 2007 My only problem is that it has caused me to not use my MP. About 1000 images since January.
sps Posted March 13, 2007 Share #31 Posted March 13, 2007 Received early January. No problems whatsoever (can you hear the wood being knocked on?) except the obvious magenta cast & AWB. With 1.092 I get some fast scrolling menu's, but I don't consider it a problem, just a temporary electronic gremlin.
grantray Posted March 13, 2007 Share #32 Posted March 13, 2007 Everyday use, one skiing trip, no dust in the LCD screen, no considerable dust on the sensor, no wear off. Looking back, the banding and magenta issues were marginal versus the joy of using my M8 since November 2006. I have nothing to complain. I got mine in the first week of November as well. The difference is minor dust in the LCD, slight patina on the shutter button and just the beginnings of wear on the body edges and corners. I'm sure I'm the only one who would spot the body wear, though. Like you, I'm a daily user, (I don't leave the apartment without it), and I' m surprised your M8 doesn't have wear on the shutter. -grant
Guest sirvine Posted March 13, 2007 Share #33 Posted March 13, 2007 Mine's also from early February. No issues, except the dread "green band" appeared in two (successive) shots once. Otherwise, flawless. I bought a Heliopan IR filter for E39 when I bought the camera, so no magenta yet.
tashley Posted March 13, 2007 Share #34 Posted March 13, 2007 First one in November and now up to 5000 or more shots. Pre-fix, bit of banding, the odd stripe and blob. Post fix, one or two weird 'two shots on one frame' experiences. Post 1.092, the menus jump oddly sometimes. But it has never played dead, battery life has been great, the images knock me out. I bough a second body yesterday just in case though! Tim
asfeir Posted March 13, 2007 Share #35 Posted March 13, 2007 Second generation 28 December, 1.092 went dead over a fresh(?) battery once, ressucitated after recharge
Hartmonstr Posted March 13, 2007 Share #36 Posted March 13, 2007 M8 arrived 2/13 with 50 Lux, 28 Cron and IR filters plus a spare battery. No problems so far except I did see the goofy menu skipping after installing the firmware update just once, but not since. John
James Mitchell Posted March 13, 2007 Share #37 Posted March 13, 2007 Received first generation M8 in early November. No problems, even with original firmware except: magenta and some white balance issues, especially in tungsten lighting. Much better on the white balance after trip to Solms and latest firmware, and I now have one IR filter that I am waiting for a break in my schedule to try out. cnguyen Posted March 13, 2007 Share #38 Posted March 13, 2007 Mine was received in December 2nd generation 1.9. Just updated to 1.92 and no problems so far. I need more time to play with it.
hofrench Posted March 13, 2007 Share #39 Posted March 13, 2007 Magenta in, say, 2 or 3 shots, out of perhaps 750 so far. Bought mid-February. Version 2.
woodyspedden Posted March 13, 2007 Share #40 Posted March 13, 2007 Received mine on December 9th and have had zero problems. It hasn't been back to Solms yet because I am waiting as long as possible so that when it is upgraded "ALL" known bugs can be dealt with. Two trips to Solms would be just too frustrating.
