Hello,

If found one M6TTL in perfect condition, was bought in Spain in 2002, the serial is from 2001.

The price is good :) But the camera looks like have some problem with the color. I've asked him and he told me that is normal in some Leica's in silver color, is that true??

Best regards

well, on my understanding "normal" is stretching things a little. "Not uncommon" is a better way of putting it, I would say. I'm not sure it should put you off.

Thank you for the link Robert

I've found this:

Bubbling of the or chrome surface of the Leica M6 is due to corrosion of the zinc top plate. Causes postulated for this phenomenon range from preparation of the zinc before applying chrome to adverse climatic conditions. Once it starts there is no way to stop it, however, the problem is only cosmetic, as far as I am aware.

I would prefer one that only needs an exposure meter repair.

The girl have sent the camera to I don't know where for reparation. She will contact me on Saturday. But she told me to keep looking for other cameras.

My father now is in Spain and I'll meet him in China on 25th. Maybe he can bring me the camera.

It is just cosmetic as said. If you're buying the camera with the intention of putting it to good use, then I wouldn't worry about it - as long as the price you pay for it is adjusted for the less than perfect condition.

Well, don't think so he wants to go down with the price.

Thank you for your message.

A result of impure zinc compound used to make the top which used to be made from brass and now is of brass again.

Cost accounting gone bad.

This is internal corrosion of the zinc and may get worse, may stay the same. When the program was announced, they said there would be strict quality control of the zinc. Ha.

Mine are still flawless from 1983, a few others are littered with the disease which presumably started small.

Late M4P which have "M6 windows" also have the zinc top.

But if the problem is from the material, Leica should change without any cost the top plate with this problem, right?

If your father is going to Spain why don't you get him to buy a good camera from one of the many reputable camera stores in Europe instead of messing around with substandard offferings at a high price? I would advise you to go for an M6 over an M6 TTL anyway. The smaller size makes it a very nice classic Leica. The TTL has the larger body and offers very little advantage in functionality.

Just a bit of flash control with dedicated flashes.

Btw: I just found this one unused new in box Platinum 75 years:

No opinion to reliability of the offer as I do not know the seller.

I'm from Spain, but I live between Russia and China. So, my father will visit me in China next week, so I've asked him to buy the camera and bring it to me. Finally I've found one that I will buy in Spain. I think I prefer the M6TTL, for different reasons for example, the dot on the metering will make my life more easy (I'm very green in manual photography).

I was just asking about all the things I find interesting in internet about Leica, like this bubbles, the warranty without stamp and things like this.

Thank you for your help

If you want classic simplicity, get an M3, download a meter app onto your iPhone, and you're set.

I know you said you want a built in meter, but the M3, 50 mm combination, you couldn't get more satisfying simplicity, and a meter is better discipline.

Hello

Thank you for your message.

I think will be more difficult for me without meter. I prefer the M6TTL, and I'll try to shoot without batteries and using one of these APP that I already have.
