Advertisement Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Hi semrich, Take a look here The Bridge at Koln. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
timwalker Posted March 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2007 Beautifully done. This is the sort of image that probably shines the most on a print and I wish I could see it that way instead of just this monitor of mine! jruffolo Posted March 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 10, 2007 beautiful image richard- i love the composition and the tonality of the picture / the mood it creates; and the moving cyclist in the center is an excellent subtle detail that makes it that much more dynamic. i wish i could see the print! excellent work. steich Posted March 11, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 11, 2007 As people in Köln would say: "Häste joot jemäht!" (I don´t have to translate that, do I?) I like the moving cyclist and the train. ...and it also has sex in it...at least in the Graffiti ;-) Stefan

Rolo Posted March 11, 2007 Share #10 Posted March 11, 2007 Beautiful exposure. Particularly like the train detail for added interest. Looks better without the near flag pole and took just 2 minutes to remove. Very nice image. Rolo
semrich Posted March 13, 2007 Author Share #11 Posted March 13, 2007 Everyone, thank you all for your comments. sometimes I notice that when working on a photo you can miss things that other people see, like I saw and composed this shot to position the beginning of the arch along with the graffiti (a sorry and to familiar site in Germany) however I missed sex being spelled in it. Rolo, regarding the flagpole there was no other way I could have got this composition without it. I would also have liked to have the cyclist closer but couldn't risk losing the trains passing by. Being still new with CS2 I put some additional effort into this as suggested and took out the flagpole and some scaffolding on the spire to the right and am open to comments as I will have this printed A3+ this week. elansprint72 Posted March 13, 2007 Share #12 Posted March 13, 2007 Really strong photo, agree with above comments; I think the time of day makes this shot.
Photoskeptic Posted March 13, 2007 Share #13 Posted March 13, 2007 Really nice b&w. The kind we all wish we got on every shot:)
pemayeux Posted March 13, 2007 Share #14 Posted March 13, 2007 Richard - this photo is everybit as stunning as your other photo of the station. Wonderful tones, composition and exposure. Thanks for posting these as b&w.
grantray Posted March 13, 2007 Share #15 Posted March 13, 2007 Being still new with CS2 I put some additional effort into this as suggested and took out the flagpole and some scaffolding on the spire. I actually think the image is stronger with the elements you have removed. The flagpole not only frames the cathedral, thus adding tension in the relationship of old vs modern both spatially and conceptually, it also strengthens the subtle X composition that leads the eye, like the train, to the cathedral's visual abutment to the bridge. Just an opinion... -grant
festgriff Posted March 23, 2007 Share #16 Posted March 23, 2007 Have to agree with everyone. Stunning is not enough. WOW is maybe better. Oder Einfach Geil!? Weiss nicht ob es richtig ankommt. What did you use for equipment - getting the depth at the obvious "later" time of day interests me professionally.
