dchalfon Posted June 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a leica m8, so obviously my lenses are always with the ir filter. Last week i used a friend's m6 with my 50 lux but forgot to remove the filter. Should i see any difference after development?
Advertisement Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Hi dchalfon, Take a look here Ir filters on a film M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest Ming Rider Posted June 16, 2012 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2012 I wondered this after I put my CV 35 with UV/IR on my CL but I haven't processed the film yet. I shot half the film with the CV 35 and half with a 50 Serenar with no filters. Will let you know.

adan Posted June 17, 2012 Share #5 Posted June 17, 2012 The likely effect would be cyan tinges in the corners - more with the 35 than a 50. Obviously the color tinge is not significant on B&W film. Probably someone with a densitometer could show the blockage of visible red light (as well as IR) by the filter in the corners results in some reduction in exposure even on B&W film. Fewer photons = less exposure = less corner density. Probably noticeable color shift with either C-41 or E6 color, unless masked by subject tones and colors. Stealth3kpl Posted June 17, 2012 Share #7 Posted June 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I left a green filter on with Superia 200 c41 colour neg. This was the result: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=91111&d=1338837863 so I wouldn't worry about it. Pete
cbretteville Posted June 18, 2012 Share #8 Posted June 18, 2012 As long as I shoot B&W I don't care about the UV/IR filters. As I've started shooting some colour I try remembering to remove them.... Carl
