azzo Posted March 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 4, 2007 And you did the best thing you could have done. Fantastic image Gerald. Very well seen, framed and captured. Azzo
kuddel Posted March 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 4, 2007 The coulds are almost 3D against the flat fields. A very impressing picture. Thank you Gerald. Regards, Andreas
stuny Posted March 4, 2007 Share #4 Posted March 4, 2007 Gerald - It almost seems as though the trees made the clouds move that way as they passed left to right. Wonderful amorphous shapes and movement above a linear, stationery landscape (which makes me think of the too long absent Klaus).
jmr Posted March 5, 2007 Share #5 Posted March 5, 2007 Gérald, you've caught a cool beauty here.
JE Posted March 5, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 5, 2007 I imagine you left skid marks on the road to get this one! The clouds remind me of surfing footage where the filmer ducks underwater as the wave rolls over him. Very nicely seen. Jonathan
samwells Posted March 5, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Beautiful shot, Gérald. Lovely muted color range, and the vortex of clouds is almost apocalyptic. cheers: Sam
gverdon Posted March 5, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted March 5, 2007 Thank you guys. A quite rare event here. To be honnest, my wife knows me well and even before I suggested it, she asked "Do I stop"? Therefore, all the merit for this one goes to her. Gérald

gverdon Posted March 12, 2007 Author Share #18 Posted March 12, 2007 For those interested (if any)... A meteorologist explained to me that this formation is a typical arcus cloud, associated with leading edge of a thunderstorm or a cold front.
