earleygallery Posted April 12, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 12, 2012 Looks a bit like an updated Bugatti Veyron to me.
Steve Ash Posted April 12, 2012 Share #9 Posted April 12, 2012 Looks a bit like an updated Bugatti Veyron to me. Lexus are top-notch when it comes to copying. This time the designers were creative to move from Mercedes to Volkswagen, sorry Bugatti.
stuny Posted April 12, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted April 12, 2012 Three or Four years ago Acura moved to a very angular design on the TL featuring almost baroque chome. Some of that angularity and chrome is here. TL's sales dropped off (much like BMWs with the Bangle Butt) so they toned it down. Hopefully they'll do likewise with the NSX. Veyron? No. That one is all smooth lines, as shown below. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! pauledell Posted April 12, 2012 Share #11 Posted April 12, 2012 Stuart, A nice series but I want a gas-guzzling Land Rover more than that. No head room. Paul
stuny Posted April 13, 2012 Author Share #12 Posted April 13, 2012 Paul - Why not an 18-wheeler instead? They get <4 MPG.
Steve Ash Posted April 13, 2012 Share #13 Posted April 13, 2012 I wonder that the Veyron was on display. I thougth they ceased production. Regards, Steve
stuny Posted April 14, 2012 Author Share #14 Posted April 14, 2012 Steve - One of my magazines (hardcopy and electronic) is Autoweek and they've published nothing about Bugatti of late other than the release of a roadster version of the Veyron. Guest Benqui Posted April 14, 2012 Share #15 Posted April 14, 2012 Good shots Stuart, but maybe I am too oldfashioned, I do not like these kind of cars at all. In my opinion you have to hear to roaring sound of the motor and smell the fuel while accelerating the car (sorry to all eco-warriors). But just wait 10-15 years, and we all will have to drive e-cars with a special sound programm (V8, Porsche, Land-Rover (for you Paul)) regards Marc
stuny Posted April 15, 2012 Author Share #16 Posted April 15, 2012 Marc - There is a safety issue regarding silent cars - Pedestrians may not hear them coming. The NSX is to be a high performance hybrid, using both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor (or two), with the motor adding fuel economy, torque for acceleration and all wheel drive. I do not know if it will be usable as electric only for short distances. If so, there needs to be a solution for the silence. And yes, I too like the sound of a finely designed, finely tuned engine. Rona!d Posted April 18, 2012 Share #17 Posted April 18, 2012 These cars are high performance as well, but for us "old guys" they seem to be a bit boring. But wait: Drive one and you may change your opinion. I drove the strangest alternative vehicles over the last 2 years. Some were electric or hybrid and with some even I had my fun. About the safety issue: Some japanese companies created the funniest sound for pedestrian safety, hope this will become series in Japan only
stuny Posted April 18, 2012 Author Share #18 Posted April 18, 2012 I suppose they could have it play ice cream truck music, but that would just attract hordes of children.
