Mark_L Posted January 23, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are there any issues with using this lens on the M8, Ken Rockwell recommends not to use it on the M9 for some reason? Which is of no importance to me as it concerns the M8 the halfframe you know .And is there some way to use the 28 frame lines in the cameras view finder with this lens? Or is an external viewfinder necessary. If so do you also see in there the exposure time in automatic or dot with triangles in manual exposure? Erik Gunst Lund Posted January 23, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 23, 2012 There are many threads on 21mm currently, especially on view finders... No external view finder is needed, the whole window is what you get with a M8...
Ronazle Posted January 26, 2012 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2012 There are no problems using it with the M8. It is not usable with the M9. I have used mine with the M8 for years and am very happy with it. regards, ron
colonel Posted February 3, 2012 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2012 There are many threads on 21mm currently, especially on view finders...No external view finder is needed, the whole window is what you get with a M8... very useful information With an M9 I only walk about with two lenses, a 28mm and a 50mm On the M8 I think the equivalent is a 21mm and a 35mm. I was thinking about a 24m as it has framelines, but if the 21mm can be seen it would be a better choice for me + it will give a nice extra wide on the M9 if necessary as well Is corner fix a must using a 21mm non-Leica, like the Zeiss ? wattsy Posted February 3, 2012 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2012 Is corner fix a must using a 21mm non-Leica, like the Zeiss ? Not always but the 21/F4.5 has a reputation for being particularly susceptible to red-edge.
lct Posted February 3, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2012 ...Is corner fix a must using a 21mm non-Leica... Not with the CV 21/4P, on M8.2 at least.
