Vented hood for 25mm

......If you're DIY you could easily remove a little material from the four corners with a Dremel, to make it 'flower shaped'...

Though a good idea, flower-shaped hoods are not screw-in but clip-on, thus guaranteeing exact positioning when installed. This is not guaranteed when screwing such lens hood on a lens.....

Which filter thread would that be ? I'm sure you can find something in Heavystar's e-bay shop.

Another vote for Heavystar - great stuff. When I used a Canon 3.5/25mm RF lens on an M7, I had a vented hood that I ground down myself by trial and error. Eeventually, its extension was about 80mm - on an M8 with a crop factor, you could maybe even use Heavystar's 35mm vented Hood.

If you get vignetting, use a large sheet of sand paper (emery paper) and run the hood on it in circular motions until the desired depth is achieved. Finish off on really fine sand paper and paint flat black.

Best,

If you search for just "39 metal hood" you should get quite a few (!) options. Look for any that are shallow and/or flare out. They're dirt cheap, so it wouldn't hurt to take a gamble and test.

Worse comes to worse, pick one up and take a belt sander to it! Smooth the edges with a nail file and hit it with a Sharpie marker. Voila! ;)

If its any help - I just put one of these vented hoods, with the inwards sloping design (normally used on a Cron 50) on my 21 Color Skopar and took a few snaps in my office, without processing the pics I detect a very small amount of vignetting visible in play-back. As 21 is wider than 24, I suspect a non inwards sloping, shallow or wide design should be fine.

The normal hood for the CV 21 is a ridiculous little ring no more than 5-6mm deep

All of the lil' Skopars use this same hood and slide-on lens cap (at least the old LTM versions). Which is both cool... And not so cool. Nice that they're so small and they work great with the caps. But they're not terribly efficient. I have the 21, 28, 35 and 50 myself.
