Advertisement Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hi gyoung, Take a look here Villandry. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gyoung Posted February 23, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted February 23, 2007 and the second was with the 35mm Summicron asph. It didn't look right in colour, so I converted it to Black & White, the first B&W landscape I have done in 20 years. I think it looks rather 19th. century, Atget perhaps? jmr Posted February 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2007 Gerry, very good, especially the b&w - in fact so good that you really shouldn't wait another twenty years before attempting another.
topoxforddoc Posted February 23, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2007 Gerry, the B&W is more striking. Just a shame you didn't have a couple of fluffy white clouds to balance the sky. Villandry is one of my favourite chateaux - just so unusual with its vegetable garden, instead of flowers. Charlie
stuny Posted February 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2007 Gerry - Both lovely, but yes, the B&W works better. Perhaps one of the reasons it woks better is that the B&W is shown as a slightly wider shot, adding the depth of another two or three meters to the convergence. Charlie I didn't have any clouds with me For such a tranquile scene it took a lot of patience to get find the moment when there were no peoople in the shot. Villandry is one of our favourites too, especially as I grow a lot of vegetables myself. Thanks for all your comments, Gerry
