To be sure, unscrew the lens and look at the focus following cam: if it is a wheel, then you have a Leica a wedgemeans Russian fake, I have never seen a fake IIf. Some most detailed pic would be useful... but me too tend to think it's a genuine IIf (btw, from the first batch... the 3029th of 4000); good camera to use if you don't mind about long exposure times. doubice Posted January 4, 2012 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2012 No doubt that this is a real IIf - manufactured in 1951. The accessory shoe is correct for the IIf, as the IIf had a simpler design than the IIIc or IIIf. The IIf was cheaper version and as such some features were 'trimmed'. Speeds only down to 1/30s and the accessory shoe - instead of the sprung type of the IIIf, it was a simpler design with just friction fit. What is interesting though, it appeears that the camera comes with a 'Red Scale Elmar' - that would be a nice find.
