bpalme Posted December 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's kinda strange for me when I see an M camera on TV.. You just don't see it everyday. Anyway it's at 1:46 here: Audrey Tautou Chanel No 5 Commercial (2'20'' version) - YouTube

adan Posted December 22, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2011 Hmm, this would be from 31 months ago? http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/83863-chanel-leica.html

ddp Posted December 22, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2011 Yes...it appears that the spot is back in rotation now, at least in my area of the US. Even my wife commented on it.
ezc203 Posted December 22, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2011 There's an interview of Jean-Pierre Jeunet floating around somewhere on the internet about his approach to this ad. (Yes, he's the genius director of Amelie Poulain). In it I remember him saying something to the effect: only the simplistic design of the Leica camera complimented Audrey's beauty... If I find the interview again I'll be sure to link it.
mmradman Posted December 22, 2011 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Comes Christmas come Coca-Cola and Perfume adverts on TV, that particular Chanel 5 ad has been going for few years now.
wda Posted December 22, 2011 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2011 A clever piece of product placement. Strange that she didn't seem to possess the camera until the last minute!
vanhulsenbeek Posted December 22, 2011 Share #9 Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) But who can blame her, stepping out of, I think, Sirkeci Station in Istanbul Edited December 22, 2011 by vanhulsenbeek
koray Posted December 22, 2011 Share #10 Posted December 22, 2011 But who can blame her, stepping out of, I think, Sirkeci Station in Istanbul Well, that's a tricky one. Orient Express normally arrives at Sirkeci Station (the European side of Istanbul), but the station she steps out of is Haydarpasa actually (the Asian side). Bosphorus Strait is the barrier between these two stations. Haydarpasa Station is a wonderful building, so I don't blame them for not being that accurate! Wallyvision Posted December 23, 2011 Share #11 Posted December 23, 2011 Let's not be too nit picky. It's Audrey Tautou with a Leica M in the same picture. How much better could it be? Life is good.

vanhulsenbeek Posted December 23, 2011 Share #17 Posted December 23, 2011 Well, that's a tricky one. Koray Thanks! I already doubted my self, because in the clip the outside of the station towards the Bosphorus was so open and uncluttered. Magical places: must go back:)
MarkP Posted December 24, 2011 Share #18 Posted December 24, 2011 Is the lens a 75 Summilux?
adan Posted December 24, 2011 Share #19 Posted December 24, 2011 90 APO-Summicron-M-ASPH. Telltales: engraving of lens name/serial number is on the lens shade, rather than around the front element. Aperture ring beings with a single digit ("2") rather than a decimal ("1.4"). See frame capture from the ad in the link in post #3.
Paulus Posted December 24, 2011 Share #20 Posted December 24, 2011 Seeing the ad, I suddenly got a vision of an M10 1,5 bigger than an M9. Audry is so small, that the camera looks really big. Might the size of the M10 body be that way to a bigger person , what is is to Audry and still have a nice look? Think of the possibilities of the sensor and everything!
