I think I'd like it better than than the Luigi case because my fingertips can really get between the grip cylinder and the camera. The camera can just hang down from my fingers. It doesn't look like the L. case gives you that much purchase. Â In fact I might like an even bigger grip. I think Tom's Abramson's (sp?) grip, when it's ready, may be bigger. Â Frankly, I think the ergonomics could be improved on. Don't get me wrong, I love this camera, but I hope they break the M mold with the next one, the way the R8 departed from the R7. First make it a little taller, than slice the back half off and make it more flush to the body than wrap it around to the neck lug and make it as tall as the camera and put a hand strap on it with a slot to attach. As there is no way to add a handstrap without adding a plate, I cut up an old camera strap and rigged a leather variation on the Leicagoodies sling.  I like the short grip cylinder as I can wrap one finger over it and two around it. This way my trigger finger naturally falls where it should be. I use one of Tom A.s soft releases and squeeze off shots with the second joint of my finger rather then the tip -find it smoother. It makes the camera easier to carry as well as to shoot with, it improves ability to take slow shutter speed shots and it just feels right. Could you explain your strap approach. Do you alternate between the wrist strap and a regular shoulder strap? The funny thing is that I had used my M6 for some time with the winder and liked it. But today I like the M8 without the grip better. I might try the Leica protector. Anybody compared it to the grip? Is that a Leica Goddies quick release on the strap?  Mike  Mike, It is indeed a Leica Goodies quick release. Not cheap, but I like it very much. I don't put the wrist strap on my wrist while shooting - I use it to carry the camera when it's dangling by my side. Having any strap on the grip side defeats the smoothness of the case and comfort while shooting. I also use a quick release with the bandolier-style strap from Goodies. I really like that one because the ring floats along the strap and I can quickly move it from my hip to shooting position.  -Brad Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Â Mark, The Luigi case is also close the the wheel and permits you only access to the wheel from the 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock position. I only replace it with the original camera plate when I intend to work a lot with the Elmarit 2.8/135 since its spectacles hit the grip when placing/removing the lens. While I dutifully respect all the M-series heritage, blah, blah, it's a poor design by modern ergonomic standards. I have long-ish fingers, and the grip makes the camera much more comfortable for me. Â I agree with Guy, the design could be even better. The grip for the Voigtlander Bessa is much like what he describes, and integrates a lot better into the body than the Leica cylinder. This will be even more important when I get my Elmarit 90.  2) A LeicaGoodies clip - someone in Switzerland must have made the clips for them. Can anyone still contact them to ask who? This looked cool the steer for the 75 lux and than a scoop that not sure what it can bring to the party but will try it on my 1.25.
